Sicherheitshinweise
Bitte beachten Sie bei der Benutzung des XS Stick ® P14
unbedingt folgende Sicherheitshinweise, um sich und das
Gerät vor Verletzungen bzw. Schäden zu schützen:
Der XS Stick ® P14 wurde für die Verwendung in trockenen
und geheizten Räumen entwickelt. Das Gerät muss von
Feuer und offenen Flammen ferngehalten werden!
Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht in Umgebungen, in denen
sich potentiell explosive Stoffe in der Luft befinden.
Schützen Sie das Gerät vor direkter Sonneneinstrahlung.
Der XS Stick ® P14 darf nicht mit Flüssigkeiten in Berührung
kommen, da dies zu Stromschlägen, Kurzschlüssen oder der
Zerstörung des Gerätes führen kann.
Öffnen Sie nicht das Gehäuse des
XS Stick ® P14 , da dies das
Risiko von Verletzungen oder Beschädigungen mit sich
bringt.
Bei missbräuchlicher und unsachgemäßer Behandlung,
Gewaltanwendung und bei Eingriffen, die nicht von unserer
autorisierten Service-Niederlassung vorgenommen wurden,
erlischt der Garantieanspruch.
Frei Verfügbarer Speicher des XS Stick ® P14
Der XS Stick ® P14 ist mit einem microSD-Kartenslot ausgestat-
tet, der Karten bis 16 GB Größe akzeptiert.
Dadurch haben Sie die Freiheit, Daten mobil und flexibel in
einem Gerät speichern zu können.
Für die Inbetriebnahme des Speichers verwenden Sie bitte
einmalig die Funktion Ihres Betriebssystems zum Formatieren
eines Laufwerks.
Anschließend kann der Speicher Ihres XS Stick ® P14 wie ein
herkömmlicher USB-Datenstick verwendet werden.
Hinweis: Sollten Sie die mitgelieferte Software XS Manager
nicht installiert haben, muss das Laufwerk für die microSD-
Speicherkarte manuell aktiviert werden.
Hierzu öffnen Sie über den Arbeitsplatz das Laufwerk
XS Manager und führen Sie dort die Applikation switch4g.exe
aus.
PIN Eingabe
Nach erfolgreicher Installation startet die Software
XS Manager mit der Sie alle Funktionen des XS Stick ® P14
steuern können. Bei Aufforderung geben Sie bitte die PIN
Ihrer SIM-Karte ein, und bestätigen Sie die Eingabe mit OK.
Funktionen im XS Manager
Diese Funktionen können durch Druck auf einen der
verfügbahren Buttons ausgeführt werden:
Verbinden: Sie stellen eine Verbindung ins Internet her.
SMS: Sie können Kurznachrichten senden oder
lesen.
Statistik: Sie erhalten Details über die aktuelle
Verbindung.
Web: Sie öffnen Ihren standard Web-Browser.
Einstellungen: Sie öffnen einen Dialog zur Konfiguration
Ihres XS Stick ® P14.
Windows TM 7, Vista & XP
Sobald Sie den XS Stick ® P14 mit dem Computer verbunden
haben, startet automatisch die Installation der mitgelieferten
Software. Sollte dies nicht geschehen, können Sie die
Software manuell installieren:
Der
XS Stick ® P14 wird als Laufwerk im Arbeitsplatz
eingebunden.
Öffnen Sie dieses Laufwerk beispielsweise mit dem Windows
Explorer und führen Sie die Applikation autorun.exe aus.
Folgen Sie dann den Anweisungen des Installationspro-
gramms.
MAC OS X TM 10.4.9 oder neuere
Wenige Sekunden nachdem der XS Stick ® P14 mit dem
Computer verbunden wurde, erscheint das XS Manager CD
Symbol auf dem Desktop.
Öffnen Sie dieses Symbol und ein Fenster mit dem Disk-
Image XSManager.dmg, erscheint. Durch doppelklicken
dieser Datei wird ein virtuelles Laufwerk geöffnet in dem Sie
die
XS Manager Installation starten können.
Folgen Sie dann den Anweisungen des Installationspro-
gramms.
* SIM-Schublade muß vollständig im Gerät eingeschoben sein!

Entsorgungsinformationen
Das am 13. Februar 2003 in Kraft getretene und in der
Bundesrepublik Deutschland am 18. August 2005 umgesetzte
europäische Gesetz zur Vermeidung von Elektro- und
Elektronikmüll bedeutet eine erhebliche Änderung in
der Behandlung von elektrischen Geräten am Ende
ihres Lebenszyklus. Der vorrangige Grund für dieses Gesetz
liegt in der Vermeidung von Elektro- und Elektronikschrott.
Dazu gehört das Unterstützen von weiterer Verwendung,
Wiederaufbereitung oder anderer Formen der Weiterverwen-
dung solchen Mülls, um Abfall zu reduzieren.
Das Logo ( ) für dieses Gesetz auf dem Gerät oder der
Verpackung zeigt, dass dieses Produkt nicht durch den
Haushaltsmüll entsorgt werden darf. Sie sind dafür verant-
wortlich, das jeder Elektro- oder Elektronikmüll über die
entsprechenden Stellen, z. B. den Werkstoffhof, entsorgt wird.
Getrenntes Sammeln und korrektes Aufbereiten Ihres Elektro-
und Elektronikmülls hilft die natürlichen Ressourcen zu
erhalten. Mehr noch das korrekte Entsorgen von Elektro- und
Elektronikmüll schützt das menschliche Leben und die
Umwelt. Um mehr Informationen über die Entsorgung von
Elektro- und Elektronikmüll zu erhalten, wenden Sie sich bitte
an die lokalen Stellen wie Rathaus, Müllabfuhrdienste, das
Geschäft, bei dem Sie das Gerät gekauft haben, oder den
Hersteller des Gerätes.

Disposal information
The European directive which became effective on February
13th 2003 and which was implemented in the Federal Republic
of Germany on August 18th 2005 for the prevention of
electronic and electrical waste has led to a considerable
change in the handling of electrical devices at the end
of their useful lives. The fundamental reason for this directive
is the prevention of electronic and electrical waste. This
includes waste management strategies that focus on reuse,
recycling, reconditioning or other forms of recycling of such
waste to reduce waste materials.
The use of the symbol ( ) indicates that this product may
not be treated as household waste. You are respon-
sible for disposing of all your electrical and electronic waste
correctly in the appropriate disposal service e.g. recycling
ground. . By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly,
you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the
natural resources, environment and human health which could
otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this
product. For more detailed information about recycling of
electronic and electrical waste, please contact your local city
office, your household waste disposal service, the shop where
you purchased the product or the product manufacturer.
Quick Start Guide Safety information
To protect yourself and the device from damage, please
observe the following when using and handling the
XS Stick ® P14 :
The XS Stick ® P14 is designed solely for use in dry heated
rooms.
It must be kept away from fire and flames!
Do not use the
XS Stick ® P14 in areas with potentially
explosive atmospheres.
Prevent the device from exposure to direct sunlight or heat.
The device must not come into contact with liquid as this
could result in electric shock, short-circuiting or total
destruction of the device or worse.
Do not open the housing of the
XS Stick ® P14 . This could
cause a hazard to the user or damage the device.
With abusive and inappropriate treatment, use of force and
with interferences, which were not made by our authorized
service address, expires the warranty claim.
Free Memory of your XS Stick ® P14
The XS Stick ® P14 comprises a microSD card slot and it supports
microSD cards of up to 16 GB.
This option gives you the freedom of flexible, mobile data storage,
all in one device.
Please use the standard function of your operating system to
format a storage device for initial setup. This has to be done
only once.
Afterwards the memory of your XS Stick ® P14 can be accessed
like an usual USB flash drive.
Note: Should you not have installed the provided software
XS Manager , the drive for the microSD card must manually be
activated.
Therefor open the drive XS Manager on your computer and
execute the existing application switch4g.exe.
Now you should be able to access the memory of your microSD
card.
Windows TM 7, Vista & XP
On connecting the XS Stick ® P14 to the computer, the
installation of the software provided with the device starts
automatically.
You can start the installation manually: You will find alterna-
tivly the
XS Stick ® P14 as a drive under „My Computer“.
Open this drive using e.g. Windows Explorer and start the
application “autorun.exe”.
Then follow the instructions of the installation wizard.
MAC OS X TM 10.4.9 or higher
A window with the disk image XS Manager.dmg will open
automatically after connecting the XS Stick ® P14 to the
computer.
A virtual drive is opened by double-clicking this file. Double-
click the
XS Manager symbol to start the installation.
Then follow the instructions of the installation wizard.
Enter your PIN
The XS Manager starts automatically after the installation
has been completed successfully.
You can use it to control all functions of the
XS Stick ® P14.
When requested, enter the PIN of your SIM card and confirm
with OK.
Function of the XS Manager
These features can be started by pressing one of the following
buttons:
Connect: Connect to the Internet.
SMS: Send or read short messages.
Statistics: View details of the current connection.
Web: Opens your default web browser.
Settings: Opens a dialog to configure your
XS Stick ® P14. * SIM card tray must be pushed in completely in the
equipment!
