Your Lady Braun style operates on four 1.5 V alkaline micro
batteries (AAA, IEC-LR 03, MN 2400, AM 4).
To open the battery compartment
ቧ
, press the ribbed
surfaces at the bottom of the shaver and pull the battery
compartment out of the shaver (a). Insert the batteries.
The markings on the battery compartment tell you which
way each of the batteries has to be put in (b).
Then put the battery compartment completely into the
shaver.
The battery compartment can only be inserted in one way,
i.e. the diagram showing the battery placement should be
inserted behind the switch (a).
If you will not be using the shaver for a long period of time,
take the batteries out of the shaver to guard against leakage
and possible damage to your shaver.
Do not dispose of empty batteries in the house-
hold waste. Take them to special local collection
sites.
How to operate the shaver
Your Lady Braun style has a switch stop

. If prevents the
shaver from turning on accidentally when stored away,
protecting the life of your batteries.
To unlock: push switch stop up
To lock: push switch stop down
The switch

turns both the foil system and the two curved
trimmers on:
On = push switch up
Off = push switch down
Before shaving remove the protective cap
ቦ
. Grasp both
sides in the middle and lift gently off. After you are finished,
always put it back on again to protect the foil against
damage.
Before starting off
Before shaving, make sure your skin is completely dry.
Shaving
Hair removal with the combined actions of the Lady Braun
style foil and trimmers is fast, thorough, yet gentle to skin:
The curved trimmers

first raise all long hairs and cut them
off. Then the flexible foil
ቤ
follows to smooth away any
stubble. For best results, hold the shaver so that about half
of the foil and one of the trimmers are in contact with your
skin, with the trimmer leading.
Guide the shaver slowly over your skin without pressing.
The Lady Braun style gives you equal shaving action on
both trimmer sides, so you can move the shaver forwards
and backwards as you wish. The large, rounded shaver
head lets you easily shave those difficult curves and
countours – on knees, ankles, underarms, bikini line, for
instance.
When you are finished
After shaving, you may want to smooth on a little body
cream or lotion. Caution, however, is advised in applying
perfume or deodorants right away.
Keeping your Lady Braun style in good condition
Before cleaning, turn the shaver off. The foil of your Lady
Braun style is a precision part. To avoid damaging it, be
careful when handling the shaver head.
After every use: Remove the shaver head by pulling it off (c).
Tap the bottom gently on a flat surface (not on the metal
parts) (d). Brush out the inside of the shaver head (e). Do not
brush the shaving foil surface, because that may damage it.
Then give the top of the shaver a quick cleaning with the
brush. Replace the shaver head by clicking in place.
Do not shave with a damaged foil. You may injure yourself if
you do. If damage to the foil does occur, a replacement can
be obtained via your authorised Braun dealer or a Braun
Service Centre (see appendix).
To maintain the high performance of your shaver, please
apply some vaseline approximately every 3 months or after
each cleaning of the shaver. Take off the shaver head and
apply a tiny amount of vaseline as indicated in illustration (f).
