TV Troubleshooting

Check the following guide for the possible cause of a problem before contacting service.

Problem

Solution

TV won’t switch on

x

Check the mains cable is connected properly to both the mains
supply and the mains adapter

x

Check the cable from the mains adapter is connected properly to the
set.

x

The electronic circuit may have reset. Pull the plug out, wait for 60
seconds, then plug back again.

No picture

x

Check the aerial or other input is connected properly.

x

Check that the correct input is selected, using the INPUT button.

x

Check the brightness and contrast settings in the Picture Setting.

No sound

x

Check that the VOLUME isn’t turned down, or the MUTE button
pressed.

x

Check that the audio cables are connected to the correct inputs.

Picture is wrong colour

x

Check that the correct input is selected, using the INPUT button.

The picture is unstable
when used with a PC

x

Check the Picture Setting and adjust the view by Auto Adjust match
the video output settings of the PC.

There are a few
coloured spots on the
screen

x

High resolution LCD screens often have a small number of faulty
pixels.

x

This is normal and within the bounds of our quality control checks.

Picture with wrong
scaling

x

The LCD has the wrong aspect ratio. Please press the RED button to
switch the aspect ratio from 16:9 to 4:3.
