Display systems (abstract)
Different display systems are available and have to be selected by their advantages.
For the most systems, special glasses will be needed.
Anaglyph and Interference-Filter display
Left and right picture will be shown in different colors at
the same time.
Special color filter glasses will be needed to see only
„one” picture with each eye.
Polarized display
Left and right picture will be shown in differently
polarized light at the same time.
Special polarized filter glasses will be needed to see
only „one” picture with each eye.
Shutter display
Alternating left and right picture will be shown very
quickly.
Special active shutter glasses will be needed to see
only „one” picture with each eye.
The shutter glass needs to be synchronized to the
display device.
Batteries are needed.
Autostereoscopic display (Multiview display)
Left and right picture will be shown to different
directions by using parallax barriers or lenticular lenses
at the same time.
No glasses are needed.
Head-mounted display
Left and right picture will be shown separately to the
respective eye by using small separate displays.
Batteries (power supply) are needed.
