Description
Allows connecting a probe or instrument with a RS-485 port to the USB port of a PC. The AC3010
converter cable is powered directly from the USB port and does not require an additional power
supply.
IMPORTANT: Prior to using cable AC3010, the ROTRONIC USB driver must be installed
on the PC (available from the HW4 CD or from www.rotronic.com).

Option 1: Networked devices powered from the USB port
Cable AC3010 has two wires (V+ and GND) that can be used to power the networked devices
directly from the USB port (5 VDC, 100 mA). In that case, the length of the main data line must
be limited to 100 m.

Beschreibung
Verbindet einen Fühler oder ein Gerät mit einer RS-485 über die USB Schnittstelle mit einem PC.
Das Kabel wird direkt über den USB Port versorgt und benötigt kein zusätzliches Netzgerät. In
einem RS-485 Netzwerk agiert das Kabel als Slave.
Hinweis: Damit das Kabel AC3010 verwendet werden kann, muss der ROTRONIC USB
Treiber auf dem PC installiert werden. Dieser kann entweder von der HW4 CD oder
vom Internet www.rotronic.com installiert werden.

Option 1: Netzwerk Geräte werden über den USB port mit Spannung versorgt.
Mit den V+ und GND Anschlüssen des AC3010 wird das Netzwerk über die USB Schnittstelle mit
Spannung versorgt (5VDC, 100mA). Das Netzwerk darf maximal 100 m lang sein.

Option 2: Networked devices powered separately
When the networked devices are not powered from the USB port, the length of the main data
line can be up to 1000 m.
AC3010 network design and installation
• Limit the RS-485 network to a single main data line (one segment)
• Terminate each end of the main data line with a 240 Ohm resistor. Therefore use the article
AC3021 “Junction-Box”.
• The total length of the network must not exceed 100 m or 1000m (depending on the network
design)
• Do not connect more than 64 devices to the same main data line
• Each device connected to the RS-485 network should be given a unique address (1 to 64)
Option 2: Netzwerk Geräte werden separat mit Spannung versorgt.
Wenn die Geräte separat mit Spannung versorgt werden, kann ein Netzwerk mit einer maximalen
Länge von 1000 m erstellt werden.
AC3010 Netzwerk Design und Installation
• Die RS-485 Datenverbindung muss aus einem durchgehenden Kabel bestehen
• Der Anfang und das Ende der Verbindung müssen mit einem 240 Ohm Widerstand terminiert
sein. Hierzu eignet sich der Artikel AC3021 „Verteiler-Box“.
• Die maximale Länge des Netzwerkes ist je nach Beschaltung auf 100 oder 1000 m limitiert
• Es können maximal 64 Geräte an eine RS-485 Datenverbindung angeschlossen werden.
• Jedem Gerät in einer Datenverbindung muss eine unique Netzwerkadresse (1…64) zugeteilt
werden.
