Luminous letters

With this kit it is made possible to mount any capital
letter of the alphabet or any digit from 0...9. The con-
crete description of each letter and of each digit is
been enclosed. The kit includes especially bright
LED's. The printed wiring board could be equipped al-
so with LED's of any other colour. Operating voltage:
12V. Current consumption: approx. 100...300 mA,
depending on the digit. Dimensions: approx. 90 x 65
mm. With each kit it is feasible to mount any digit and
putting several kits together, you are capable to build
luminous nameplates, signboards, house numbers
etc.

Leuchtbuchstaben

Mit diesem Bausatz kann ein beliebiger Großbuchsta-
be des Alphabets oder eine beliebige Z iffe r von 0...9
aufgebaut werden. Der Aufbau jedes Buchstabens
und jeder Z iffe r ist genau beschrieben. Es liegen sehr
helle Leuchtdioden bei. Die Platine kann aber auch mit
LED`s anderer Farben bestückt werden. Betriebs-
spannung: 12V. Stromaufnahme: ca. 100...300 mA,
je nach Buchstabe. Größe: ca. 90 x 65 mm. Jeder
Bausatz ergibt einen beliebigen Buchstaben, es kön-
nen mehrere Buchstaben zu leuchtenden Namenszü-
gen, Hinweisschildern, Hausnummern usw. zusam-
mengefügt werden.

Je nachdem, welcher Buchstabe oder welche Ziffer aufgebaut werden soll, su-
chenSie sich die entsprechende Stückliste heraus. Je nach Bestückung werden
mehr oder weniger Bauteile benötigt. Es liegen insgesamt 37 Leuchtdioden bei,
diese Anzahl wird für die Ziffer "0" gebraucht. Für andere Buchstabenoder Zif-
fernwerden weniger Bauteile undLeuchtdioden gebraucht, so daß einige übrig-
bleiben können. Bitte beachten Sie bei der Bestückung der Platine folgende Re-
geln:
Die LED's müssen richtig herum in die Platine eingelötet werden. Zur Kenn-
zeichnungist die eine Seite der LED leicht abgeflacht. Diese abgeflachteSeite ist
auch auf dem Bestückungsdruck der Platine entsprechend gekennzeichnet, so
daß Sie die LEDrichtig herumeinbauen können. Es werden nur die LED`s und
Widerstände der Platine bestückt, die in der Stückliste des gewünschten Buch-
stabens angegeben sind, alle anderen Löcher der Platine bleiben frei. Die
Leuchtdioden werden mit ca. 8...10 mm langen Beinen in die Platine eingelötet
(nicht bis zum Anschlag in die Löcher stecken). Dann können die LED`s später
noch leicht in eine andere Richtung gebogen werden, umdas Erscheinungsbild
des Buchstabens zu verbessern. Die Platine darf nicht direkt auf eine Metallun-
terlage geschraubt werden, weil es sonst Kurzschlüsse auf der Platine gibt. In
diesemFall müssen kleine Abstandshalter untergelegt werden.

correctly into the board. It is important to observe that soley those LED's andre-
sistances of theprinted wiring board should beplaced, which are indicated in the
correspondingparts list of thedesired letter, all other holes of the printed wiring
board will remain open. The light emitting diodes are to be soldered with approx.
8...10mm pins into theprinted wiring board (never insert the parts into theboard
till thestop). That way, it is made possibleto modificate easily theposition of the
LED's later on, in order toimprove theappearance of the letter. The printed wi-
ringboard should never befixed directly ona metal surface because it will pro-
duce short-circuits on the printed wiring board. In this case it is necessary to
place underneath small spacingpieces.
