This generator produces ultrasonic sounds, which are adjustable within the
range of approx. 8...35kHz. It is said, that crawling and jumping parasites
are banished through the ultrasonic sound. Frequency can be adjusted so
that the domestic animal will not be disturbed. Operating voltage: 9V. As
loudspeaker is required either a small treble loudspeaker 8 Ohm (no
piezo!) or adynamic 8Ohm earphone. (Not enclosed in thekit).

Dieser Generator erzeugt Ultraschalltöne, die im Bereich von ca. 8...35kHz
einstellbar sind. Es wird behauptet, daß krabbelndes und springendes Unge-
ziefer von Ultraschalltönen vertrieben wird. Die Frequenz ist so einstellbar,
daß Ihr Haustier davon nicht gestört wird. Betriebsspannung: 9V. Als Laut-
sprecher benötigen Sie entweder einen kleinen Hochtonlautsprecher 8 Ohm
(kein Piezo!) oder einen dynamischen 8 Ohm-Ohrhörer (jeweils nicht im
Bausatzenthalten).

As sound generator you may use either a standard 8Ohmearphone or adynamic treble
loudspeaker with an impedance of 8 Ohm. Through thetrimmer potentiometer R2 pitch
of sound can be adjusted. Functional tests can be carried out if frequency is set espe-
cially low. Then, the sound will be audible also for the human ear. Now, sound should
be regulated up till it couldn' t be heard by human beings or even by your domestic
animal. For this purpose, you may switch on andoff rapidly andobserve the reactionof
your domestic animal, so that you are able to notice if thesound is still audible. Inorder
to avoid any troublesome effects on your domestic animal, it is advisable toadjust the
sound slightly higher as your animal is capable to hear. The Anti-Flea-Generator has
not tobe constantly switched on. Some hours during thenight will be enough. The emit-
tedsound will be especially weak but will nevertheless benoticed by the parasites. Of
course, it is feasible to reconnect also an amplifier for greater volume ranges. For this
purpose, it is necessary tofit instead of theloudspeaker aresistance of approx. 10Ohm
at "R4" andtolead thesignal through acapacitor 0.1µF from the"C"-connection of the
transistor T1 to theinput of theamplifier.

Als Schallgeber können Sie entweder einennormalen 8Ohm-Ohrhörer verwen-
den oder einen dynamischen Hochton-Lautsprecher mit einer Impedanz von 8
Ohm. Mit dem Trimmer R2 wird die Tonhöhe eingestellt. Einen Funktionstest
kannman machen, indem man die Frequenz sehr niedrig einstellt. Dann ist der
Tonauch für das menschliche Ohr hörbar. Jetzt wird der Ton so weit hochgere-
gelt, bis der Mensch undauch Ihr Haustier diesen Ton nicht mehr hören. Durch
schnelles Ein- und Ausschalten können Sie an der Reaktion Ihres Haustieres
feststellen, ob dieses den Ton noch hört. Um eine Belästigung Ihres Tieres zu
vermeiden, regeln Sie den Ton dann etwas höher, als Ihr Tier hören kann. Der
Anti-Floh-Generator braucht auch nicht ständig eingeschaltet bleiben. Es genü-
geneinige Stunden während der Nachtruhe. Der abgegebene Ton ist sehr leise,
wird aber trotzdem vom Ungeziefer wahrgenommen. Für größere Lautstärken
kann natürlich ein Verstärker nachgeschaltet werden. Dann wird anstelle des
Lautsprechers ein Widerstand von ca. 10 Ohm bei "R4" eingebaut und das Sig-
nal über einen Kondensator 0,1µF vom "C"-Anschluß des Transistors T1 auf
denEingangdes Verstärkers geleitet.
