Commissioning of the first smoke alarm device

with radio link and setting up a radio group

CAUTION!
Activate the smoke alarm device with
radio link only in accordance with the
instructions below for commissioning
the devices and setting up a group ma-
de of multiple smoke alarm devices wi-
th radio links (radio group) exclusively,
in a series and in immediate proximity
to the planned assembly position, i.e.,
the room in which the smoke alarm
device with radio link is also going to
be used.

These radio alarm systems should not
be operated with a direct distance of
less than two to three meters from
each other since otherwise the radio
signals could overlap and the smoke
alarm devices with radio links would
not be able to establish radio connec-
tions with each other.
A radio group comprises of at least

two and maximum fifteen inter-connec-
ted smoke alarm devices with radio
links per radio connection.

All smoke alarm devices with radio
links connected to a radio group give
out a loud alarm signal if at least one
smoke alarm device with radio link in
the radio group identifies fire-related
smoke or temperatures.

If a radio group is established, the
- first - smoke alarm device with radio
link will be assigned a so-called mas-
ter function only for the duration of
the setting up of the radio group. This
means that this first device (as master)
will manage the structure of the radio
group.
