Balance

You can adjust the volume balance between the right and left ear using the balance control (5).

This may be useful if your hearing is different in each ear and you thus require a higher volume for

one ear. When you have put on the headset (A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust this

control in order to find the setting that suits you best.

Settings on the base

Stereo/mono switch

If you hear the sound only in one ear despite the correct balance setting, turn the stereo/mono

switch (9) to the "mono" position. The same audio signal is played back left and right with this

setting.

In the "stereo" position, audio signals may be different left and right to represent surround sound.

Example:

In a film, you see a dog barking on the left side. The barking of the dog would be mainly

audible in the left ear at the "stereo" setting. At the "mono" setting, you hear the dog barking

equally in both ears.

When you have put on the headset (A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust this control in

order to find the setting that suits you best.

Compression

You can switch on the compression with the compression switch (11). When you do so, faint

sounds are accentuated more during playback than loud sounds. This function is particularly useful

for people with a hearing impairment because it is primarily faint sounds that they usually fail to

hear as a result. The intelligibility of speech can be optimised in particular. When you have put on

the headset (A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust this control in order to find the setting

that suits you best.

Treble boost

You can achieve further improvement in speech intelligibility with the treble control (10). The trebles

of the audio playback can be continuously boosted as a result. When you have put on the headset

(A) and playback is in progress, you then adjust this control in order to find the setting that suits you

best. To amplify high tones, turn the control anti-clockwise towards the "MAX" marking.

Switching off the headset

You can switch off the headset (A) at any time by pressing the on/off button (15). If the headset (A)

does not receive any audio signal for about 210 seconds, it switches itself off in order to save the

built-in battery.

You must press the on/off button (15) again to resume playback.
