2 Getting started
2.1 System Login
The login for all XP Embedded images is carried out by a default setting via
User name: Administrator (with administrative rights)
Password: (no password)
Additional users can be generated in the control panel in the Dialog Box "User
Management". Here, the password or the rights of a user can be changed as well.
Automised Login
The login of an XP Embedded Usercan be automised. For this purpose, changes must be
made to the registry.
The registration can be changed through the Windows Registration Editor (call: <Start>
à
Run
à "regedit" ).
Choose the path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
\ in the editor. The key DefaultUserName must be edited with the requested user name.
Furthermore, the following keys must be generated as string values (<Right Click>
à New
à StringValue):
AutoAdminLogon with a set value of 1
DefaultPassword with the corresponding user password
When restarting Windows XP Embedded, the chosen user will be logged−in automatically.
