DZC 10, DZC 20
– ca. 10dB/ 20dB Dämpfung über den gesam-
ten Frequenzbereich
– Erhöhung des Grenzschalldruckpegels um
ca. 10dB/ 20dB
– Dämpfung vor den Mikrofonverstärkern des
Colette ModulSystems
Der DZC ist ein Dämpfungselement, das bei
Erwartung sehr großer Schallpegel (deutlich
mehr als 120dB) zum Einsatz kommt. Es erhöht
den maximalen Schalldruckpegel, den unsere
Mikrofone der modularen Colette-Serie ver-
zerrungsfrei übertragen können, um 10dB
bzw. 20dB.
Der DZC wird stets unmittelbar mit der
Mikro fon kapsel verschraubt. Set zen Sie ihn-
hierzu auf die Kapsel auf und dre hen Sie zu -
nächst oh ne Druck im Ge gen-Uhr zei ger sinn,
bis Sie ein leich tes Ra sten spü ren. Jetzt sind
Sie am Ge win de an fang und kön nen den DZC
im Uhr zei ger sinn auf schrau ben.
In gleicher Weise können Sie nun diese
Kom bination mit einem unserer Mikrofon ver -
stärker oder (Aktivem) Zubhör wie dem Tiefen-
filter CUT verbinden. (Siehe Systemüber sicht
in der Biedungsanleitung des Mikrofon ver stär -
kers.)
Bitte beachten Sie:
Zwei DZC 10 ergeben auf Grund ihrer kapa zi -
tiven Arbeitsweise zusammen nicht, wie man
erwarten könnte, 20dB, sondern ca. 15dB
Dämpfung. Muss der Pegel um 20dB abge-
senkt werden, sollte daher der DZC 20 ver-
wendet werden.
Beim Einsatz der Dämp fungs zusätze steigt
nicht nur der Grenzschalldruckpegel, sondern
auch der Ersatz geräusch pegel. Kombiniert mit
der Nieren kapsel MK 4 sind es beim DZC 10
ca. 3dB-A, beim DZC 20 sind es 9dB-A.

The DZC is an attenuator to be used when very
high sound pressure levels are to be expected
(considerably more than 120 dB). It raises the
maximum sound pressure level that our Colette
modular system microphones can transmit
without distortion by about 10 dB or 20 dB.
The DZC is always screwed directly onto an
MK microphone capsule. To do this, hold it
against the end of the capsule, then turn the
capsule first counter-clockwise (not pressing
the parts together) until you feel a gentle
”click”. The screw thread will now be aligned
so that you can screw the DZC on in the nor-
mal clockwise direction.
You can now connect this combination in
the same manner to one of our microphone
amplifiers or (active) accessories such as the
CUT low-cut filter. (See system overview in
the microphone amplifier operating instruc-
tions.)
Please note:
Due to their capacitive nature, using two
DZC 10s on a single microphone will not double
the attenuation to 20 dB as one might expect;
rather it will only increase it to about 15 dB. If
you need to attenuate the sound level by a
full 20 dB, then you should use a DZC 20.
Using one of the accessory pads increases
not only the maximum sound pressure level,
but also the equivalent noise level. Combined
with an MK 4 cardioid capsule, the DZC 10
raises the level by 3 dB-A, and the DZC 20 by
9 dB-A.
