not new messages are available without having to make
a connection.
RECORD TIME Use the up/down key to set the maximum length of the
recording time for incoming messages (60 s, 120 s, 180 s,
unlimited).
REMOTE ACC. Switch remote access ON or OFF.
COMPRESSION Use the up/down key to set the compression rate for inco-
ming messages (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH). This feature
affects the incoming recording capacity and quality. At
LOW compression the recording quality is highest but the
recording capacity is reduced. To increase the recording
capacity choose MEDIUM or HIGH compression.
BS SCREENING Switch the screening of incoming messages via the base
station loudspeaker On or Off. This feature allows you to lis-
ten to the caller whilst they are recording their message.
Then if you want to intercept the call lift the handset and
press the Off Hook button. If you do not wish to be disturbed
by calls then set this feature to Off.
CHANGE PIN Enter the remote access PIN (default 0 0 0 0). This PIN is
needed for remote accessing the answering machine from
a tone-dialling (DTMF) telephone.
Screening of incoming messages / Taking a call from the ans-
wering machine
During an incoming message SCREENING appears on
the display. Press the Menu key if you want to listen to the
caller whilst they are recording their message.
Then if you want to intercept the call:
Press the Off Hook button.
