Check ground fuse

By grounding the solar module, the characteristic of the photovoltaic system is changed
in such a way that the insulation measuring of the inverter does not occur in the usual
way.
To ensure the same level of safety as in non-grounded systems, the ground fuse is
integrated into the ground conductor.

Important! Manually check the functionality of the ground fuse once a month.
Place the enclosed „Check fuse“ sticker in a clearly visible place on the photovoltaic
system.

General

Fronius IG insulation measuring will recognise an intact ground fuse.
The following will be shown on the display:
-

in ‘Now’ display mode the insulation resistance
‘-<500

K

O

HM

’ if the solar module is grounded at the negative pole

‘+<500

K

O

HM

’ if the solar module is grounded at the positive pole

-

in the status displays the status message ‘STATE502’

If the ground fuse is defective, the display will change to:
-

‘>10

MOHM

or

-

an ground fault will be shown at the actual ungrounded pole
‘+< 500

K

O

HM

’ if the solar module was originally grounded at the negative pole

‘-< 500

K

O

’ if the solar module was originally grounded at the positive pole

In this case check the insulation of the DC cable and replace the ground fuse.

Checking the
ground fuse

To suppress the ‘STATE502’ message in the status display, it can be deactivated in the
Fronius IG.

Carry out the following steps in accordance with the inverter operating instructions:

1.

In the inverter setup menu, select the ‘EXTEN

’ menu item

2.

Press Enter

‘ISO

WARN

’ is displayed

3.

Press Enter

‘ON’ is displayed

4.

Use the up / down arrow keys to select ‘OFF’.

5.

Exit the Setup menu

The ‘STATE502’ message is deactivated.
