-- Dismount the base and interchangeable jaws.

-- An end position and the connecting element stroke (trac-

tion tube, traction rod) should be checked prior to moun-
ting: the forward and rear piston 05 stop is in all cases
within the chuck. Refer to the tables on page 21 and 22
for the required dimensions.

-- Retract the actuation piston in the clamping cylinder to

the stop in the latter after checking the stroke and end
positions.

-- Push the piston 05 into the chuck up to the stop.

-- Remove the 3 chuck mounting screws 17 from the body

01 (not in case of vertical suspended main spindle axis).

-- Clean the chuck mounting surfaces and check for da-

mage.

-- Clean the mounting surface for the chuck on the machine

spindle and check for radial and axial concentricity. Per-
missible errors on the test surfaces are all within 0.005
mm.

-- Actuate the spindle drive so that the main spindle can be

rotated clockwise or anticlockwise (either manually or
electrically in short steps).

-- Convey the chuck in compliance with the specified moun-

ting position relative to the machine spindle.

2.2.1 Horizontal or vertical upright main spindle axis:

-- Mount the chuck correctly on the spindle flange and

screw it lightly to the latter with the 3 chuck mounting
screws 17. Provisional tightening torque approx. 5 Nm.

-- Press the two spring--loaded pushers on the special

wrench provided somewhat together and insert them in
the chuck bore and rotatable connecting piece 08.

-- Screw the rotatable connecting piece 08 onto the con-

necting element (traction tube, traction rod) with the spe-
cial wrench. This may need to be pushed forwards by the

clamping cylinder for this purpose through the application
of low force. Tightening torque approx. 50 -- 100 Nm (de-
pending on the chuck size).

-- Check the radial concentricity of the chuck on the outer

control diameter. Max. permissible radial error is 0.01
mm. Correct if necessary by offsetting the chuck relative
to the machine spindle.

-- Tighten the 3 chuck mounting screws 17 firmly. See table

in Risk Indications for tightening torque.

2.2 Assembly of size 200 -- 400:

2.2.2 Vertical suspended main spindle axis:

-- Raise the machine spindle.

-- Mount the chuck (with fitted chuck mounting screws 17)

with the front face downward (protected e.g. with timber
or plastic blocks -- as it should be possible to reach the
chuck mounting screws 17 with the hexagonal wrench)
on the tool carrier, centred relative to the machine
spindle.

-- Detach the lifting tackle if necessary and remove the DIN

582 ring nuts.

-- Lower the machine spindle again carefully to the adaptor

plate 04 and align in the rotational position relative to the
chuck.

-- Screw the chuck to the spindle flange with the 3 chuck

mounting screws 17. Provisional tightening torque ap-
prox. 5 Nm.

-- Raise the machine spindle again.
