Start the heating element by pressing switch (12).
The controller has already been activated by switching on of the control system (e.g. to
indicate the residual heat!). The heating must be explicitly switched in.

Risk of serious injury! The heating plate can reach temperatures of over 300°C
(575°F)! We highly recommend storing the heating plate in the designated
carrying frame immediately after use!

3.2.2 Welding preparations

For pipes smaller than 315 mm, fit the reduction clamping inserts (4 aluminium split shells)
for the pipe diameter to be worked on into the basic clamping tools with the enclosed
countersunk screws.

Lay the plastic pipes or fittings to be welded in the clamping device and tighten the brass nuts
on the clamping tools.

In this case the tubes should be clamped such that the trimmer unit (1) can be swung easily
and the tubes approximately the same distance on the basic clamping tool (2) extend. For
tightening of fittings, a clamping tool for fittings (accessories) replaced with a basic clamping
element.

Verify secure fit by moving the workpieces together.

Stay a safe distance away from the machine. Do not stand or reach into the
machine. Keep other people away from the work area!

Swing the trimmer unit (1) between the pipes to be welded and secure to the guide rails.
Start trimmer unit by pressing switch (11).

Risk of serious injury! Keep hands away from trimmer blade at all times while

tool is switched on or blade is coasting. Use trimmer in working position only.
Ensure that the safety switch functions properly at all times to avoid any
accidental starting of the trimmer away from the basic machine.

Turn the pressure adjustment valve (8) counter-clockwise all the way.

Press the control lever (4) fully rightwards. If the pipes have arrived just before the trimmer
the control lever back up into the notch and slowly increase the milling pressure to the
optimal value.

An excessively high milling pressure can lead to overheating and damage to the
miller drive. When the milling drive is overloaded or at rest, raise the machine
and reduce the pressure.

Once shavings with a thickness of < = 0.2mm are steadily exiting the milling machine, reduce
pressure, press the control lever (4) leftward and guide the machine apart.

Turn off the trimmer equipment by switch (11), wait for the planing disks to stop and remove
the trimmer unit (1).

Bring the work pieces together, and let up on the pressure by bringing the control lever (4) to
the center position.

Check to see that the welding surfaces are flat, parallel and axially aligned.

Should the joint surfaces show any misalignment, clamping screws (loosen side of the table),
position by moving the cross slide tubes exactly and repeat the trimmer process.

For best results the workpiece ends should not be mismatched by more than 10% of

the wall thickness and the maximum gap between the joint surfaces no more than
0.5 mm. This recommendation does not release you from your obligation to observe
national welding guidelines. Clear away any remaining shavings with a clean brush.

CAUTION! Do not touch the trimmed, ready to weld surfaces. Ensure that the surfaces are
free of any and all containments and foreign objects!
