Using the power saving mode
To save battery power, the power saving mode is set to “ON” by default.
In the power saving mode, if no operation is attempted for approximately 5
seconds in the stop mode and for approximately 10 seconds in the recording
and playback modes, the display turns off automatically. You can perform a
button operation, however, even while the display is turned off. To turn on the
display, press BACK/HOME.

Hint
To disable the power saving mode, press and hold BACK/HOME until the Home menu
appears, and then select “ Settings” – “Common Settings” – “Power Saving Mode.”
Set “Power Saving Mode” to “OFF.”
