Regionalcode

Eine Zahl, die Blu-ray Disc-Playern und BD-ROM- oder DVD-Video-
Discs je nach der Region, in der sie verkauft werden, zugeordnet
wird. Eine Disc kann abgespielt werden, wenn die Regionalcodes
auf der Disc die für den Player festgelegte Zahl umfassen oder „ALL“
angegeben ist.

S-Video-Ausgang

Eine Ausgangsbuchse zur Übertragung von separaten Luminanz (Y)-
und Farb (C)-Signalen über ein einzelnes Kabel. Sie bietet schärfere
Bilder als der Composite Video-Ausgang.

Sekundärer Audiostream

Einige BD-ROMs umfassen unterlegte Audiostreams, die mit dem
Haupt-Audiostream abgemischt sind. Diese unterlegten
Audiostreams werden als „sekundäre Audiostreams“ bezeichnet.
Bei einigen Discs ist dieser sekundäre Audiostream als Ton für den
sekundären Videostream aufgezeichnet.

Sekundärer Videostream

Einige BD-ROMs enthalten unterlegte Videostreams, die mit der
Bild-in-Bild-Funktion (P-in-P) über dem Haupt-Videostream
angezeigt werden können. Diese unterlegten Videostreams werden
als „sekundäre Videostreams“ bezeichnet.

Untertitelsprache

Dies bezieht sich auf die Sprache der Untertitel von Filmen. Auf BD-
ROM-Discs können bis zu 255 Sprachen (255 Untertitel-Typen), auf
DVD-Video-Discs bis zu 32 Sprachen (32 Untertitel-Typen)
aufgezeichnet sein, sodass Sie bei der Wiedergabe der Disc die
gewünschte Untertitelsprache wählen können.

VC-1

Ein von Microsoft entwickelter Video-Codec, der von der Society of
Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) standardisiert
wurde. Einige BDs enthalten Videos, die mit diesem Codec
verschlüsselt sind.
