Der A-197-2 Einbau-Kit ist eigentlich kein A-100-Modul,
sondern nur ein Einbausatz, mit dem das Velleman
VPS10 LCD-Oszilloskop in den A-100-Rahmen
eingebaut werden kann. Der Einbausatz besteht aus
einer unbedruckten Frontplatte, die passend für den
Einbau des VPS10 gestanzt ist. An der Unterseite der
Frontplatte befindet sich ein querliegendes Multiple
(identisch zu A-180). Das Kabelmaterial und die
Schrauben, die zur Verdrahtung und Montage des
VPS10 benötigt werden, liegen dem Einbausatz bei. Das
A-180 ist bereits an der Frontplatte montiert und - soweit
möglich - bereits vorverdrahtet. Das Bus-
Verbindungskabel liegt ebenfalls bei. Es ist ein wenig
elektronisches und mechanisches Geschick erforderlich,
da drei Drähte an das VPS10 angelötet werden müssen.
Außerdem muss in die hintere Kunststoff-Abdeckung
des VPS10 zur Durchführung der Drähte ein Loch
gebohrt werden (ca. 5-6 mm). Das VPS10 wird an der
Frontplatte mit vier Schrauben montiert. Die rechten vier
Buchsen des A-180 sind intern mit der BNC-
Messbuchse verbunden, so dass kein spezielles
Meßkabel erforderlich ist, sondern die Messungen mit
normalen A-100-Patchkabeln durchgeführt werden
können.
Das VPS10 kann alternativ auch mit einer eigenen
Stromversorgung betrieben werden, um nicht die
hochwertige A-100-Stromversorgung zu "missbrauchen".
Das VPS10 benötigt nämlich nicht die präzise 12V-
Stromversorgung des A-100, sondern begnügt sich auch
mit einem einfachen, unstabilisierten Steckernetzteil (9-
12V, mindestens 300mA). In diesem Fall entzieht das
VPS10 dem A-100 keinen zusätzlichen Strom, es muss
aber ein zusätzliches Steckernetzteil vorgesehen
werden.
Warum bieten wir nur einen Einbausatz an ?
Wir bekommen für das VPS10 keinen wesentlich
besseren Einkaufspreis als jeder Endkunde. Wir
müssten dafür aber das Handling und die Garantie
übernehmen und außerdem erwartet jeder unserer
Händler eine gewisse Gewinnmarge. Wir müssten also
mindestens die Gewinnspanne des Händlers auf den
Einkaufspreis des VPS10 aufschlagen, damit wir nicht
draufzahlen. Das würde den Preis des gesamten Moduls
unnötig in die Höhe treiben und wir denken, dass dies
nicht im Sinne unserer Kunden ist. Wenn Sie sich den
Einbau selbst nicht zutrauten, so können Sie ein VPS10
beschaffen. Wir bauen es dann gegen eine Pauschale

The A-197-2 kit is not a module manufactured by
Doepfer but only a front panel kit to mount the Velleman
VPS10 LCD scope into the A-100 frame. The kit consists
of the frontpanel (punched for VPS10), an A-180 pc
board (mounted crosswise below the scope) and all
wires necessary to connect the VPS10 to the A-100 bus
(power supply) and the A-180 board (signal input). A
little bit of mechanical skills and soldering is necessary.
Three wires have to be soldered to the VPS10 (GND,
+12V, signal). One hole has to be drilled into the plastic
case of the VPS10 for the passage of the wires, and the
VPS10 has to be mounted to the front panel with 4
screws and nuts. No special measuring cable (BNC - 3.5
mm jack) is necessary as the four right sockets are
internally connected to the VPS BNC input (the BNC
input is connected to the right four sockets of the A-180
board) . The four left sockets built a second multiple
without connection to the VPS10 (same as A-180).
It is also possible to run the VPS10 with an external
power supply to save the "high quality" current/voltage of
the A-100 bus. The VPS10 does not require an exactly
adjusted and highly stabilized supply voltage. In this
case the 300mA can be used for A-100 modules.
Why do we offer only the front panel kit ?
We do not get a better price for the VPS10 than a
normal end user but have to take on the warranty and to
calculate the dealers rebate into the final price. I.e. we
have to add at least the dealers rebate and the handling
charges to the VPS10 price to obtain a zero profit ! This
would extremely increase the price of the module and
we think that this is not in the sense of the customers.
