If safe operation can no longer be presumed, shut down the device
and secure it against unintended operation.
The device must be presumed unsafe to operate:
• if visible damage is evident
• if the instrument is no longer working
• if it has been stored for long periods under adverse conditions
• after harsh treatment during shipping.
