Connect

the VCR audio/video inputs to the L and R stereo RCA

and BNC connectors

labeled “To VCR In,” on the FBI 100 rear panel.

Step 5

Connect the VCR audio/video outputs to the L and R stereo RCA
and BNC connectors

labeled “From VCR Out,” on the FBI 100.

Step 6

Connect the audio/video output devices

(for example, an MPA 122

amplifier and/or a projector) to the captive screw and/or BNC
connectors labeled “To Destination” on the FBI 100 rear panel.

Step 7

Connect the contact closure control port of a control system

to the

connector labeled “Contact” on the FBI 100 rear panel. This control
system should be the same one that controls the VCR record and
playback modes.

Step 8

Program the control system

to perform as follows:

When the control system sends a command to the VCR to start
recording (record mode), it should also short and latch the
FBI 100 “Contact” pin 1 to ground (by relay).

In the other modes (play or stop), the control system should
open the FBI 100 “Contact” pin 1.

Step 9

Wire the FBI 100 power cord and connect it.

To wire the power

cord, follow these steps, and refer to the illustration below.

Cut the DC output cord to the length needed.

Strip the jacket to expose 0.2 inches (5 mm) of the conductors.

Slide the leads into the supplied captive screw plug; and tighten
the screws to lock the wires in place, using an Extron Tweeker
or a small screwdriver.

Step 10

Connect power to the output device(s), the FBI 100, the VCR, and
the input device(s).

Step 11

Power on the input and output devices, the FBI 100, and the VCR.
Insert a blank VHS tape into the VCR.
