2. Speaker Placement
General recommendations/advises
Direct sound ways: There should be no obstacles in the way from the monitor
to your ears. You should be able to see the speakers completely.
Distance to walls: The distance to the surrounding walls should be at least 40
cm to avoid early reflections, which will degrade the sound.
Alignement: The loudspeakers should be aligned with the listener’s position.
Nearby objects: Please note that vibrating parts of nearby objects can mask
the sound.
Mechanical adjustements: If you plan to modify the speaker cabinet (e.g.
drilling holes), please contact us before doing so. Usually, we will handle your
warranty obliging.
Hoizontal set up (mirror symmetrical)
The S3A has been designed for a horizontal set up. Please note that there are
two different versions, A and B (see label on the rearside). The difference is
that the two woofers reproduce different frequency bands. One woofer acts
as a full-range driver with the second woofer joining it only below 150 Hz. The
A speaker has the woofer on the left side, the B unit on the right side. That
means that both woofer-midrange units should be on the inner side.
For a precise stereo immage it is necessary to use the speakers in a mirror
symmetrical set up.
