UPS: Select the ”MPS1068/AUP-X-300-V4” type from the list
Execute program: While the UPS software counts down the seconds until shutdown in
case of a power failure, an external program can be started. Enter the program here
( 63).
Port: The UPS is connected factory-set to COM1.
If youset apermanent COM port, thestandard addressis acceptedautomatically. Ifyou
select the ”User-defined” entry, you can freely set the address within the range 0100h
to 03F8h using the arrows next to the address field. Changes are only effective after a
PC restart.
Shutdown:Defines the way the operating system is shut down. The ”shutdown”option
is set by default.
The ”Fast Shutdown” defines a forced shutdown of the operating system. All running
programs are closed without considering possible feedbacks and the system is shut
down. Caution: This setting may cause a data loss of the running applications!
Time until shutdown: Here you can set the time from power failure to system
shutdown in intervals of 15 seconds. At a maximum, two minutes can be set. If the
”Wait until battery-low signal” box is activated, the slider cannot be moved. In this
setting, the computer is buffered by the UPS as long as possible.
Time until notification:Here you can set a time from 0 to 10 seconds between the
power failure and the appearance of the message window. This can be helpful if
short-time supply failures occur and a message window is not to appear immediately.
3. Click Next.
The program now tries to verify the UPS. If the UPS is not recognised under the port
selected, please check the external RS232 cable connection from the computer to the
UPS and ensure that the UPS reallyis connectedto theport selected.The setupprogram
then again calls the dialog for the settings.
In order to activate the UPS software, Windows must be restarted.
4. Select ”Restart Windows now” and confirm with ”OK”.
The UPS software is now installed. Every time after windows has been started, the UPS
is activated automatically.
