• Never leave the appliance running

unsupervised. Damage is almost always
indicated by intensive odours. In this
case, disconnect the power supply
immediately and have the appliance
examined. Contact details can be found
in “Service Centre” on page 14.

4.5 Preventing injury

Warning! To prevent injury,
please observe the following
information.

• Make sure that the power cord never

becomes a trip hazard, that no-one can
get tangled in it or tread on it.

• Be aware that the surfaces of the

appliance can become hot in operation:
– When the appliance is in operation,

take care to touch only the lid
handle 2 and the cooker handles 4;

– While the cooking pot 3 is in use,

grasp it only with potholders or oven
gloves.

– allow the appliance to cool down

before moving it to a different
location.

4.6 For the safety of your child

Warning! Children are often
unaware of danger and are injured
as a result. Please note therefore:

• Only allow children to use this appliance

under the supervision of an adult.

• Ensure the appliance is always kept out

of the reach of children.

• Ensure that children cannot pull the

appliance down onto themselves with
the mains cable.

• Ensure that the packing foil does not

become a deadly trap for a child.
Packing foils are not toys.

4.7 Material damage

Warning! Follow the instructions given
below to prevent material damage.
• Never operate the slow cooker without

water. This could cause it to overheat.
For the same reason, never operate the
slow cooker without the cooking pot 3 in
place .

• The lid 1 and the cooking pot 3 are

breakable. You should therefore treat
them with care.

• The lid 1 and the cooking pot 3 are

liable to crack if subjected to sudden
temperature changes. You should
therefore always let them both cool
down before immersing them in water.

• The lid 1 and the cooking pot 3 are not

suitable for searing or for use in the
oven, microwave, freezer or plate
warmer.

• Always place the appliance on a level,

dry, non-slip surface to stop it tipping
over or sliding off.

• Do not place the appliance on top of a

hot hotplate.

• The appliance and accessories may not

be put in a microwave oven.

• If you serve the finished dish in the hot

cooking pot 3, place a heat resistant
table mat underneath it to prevent
marking the table top.
