5. Unpacking and setting up

Note: As the appliance is supplied with a
thin film of grease, there might be a small
amount of smoke and odour the first time
it is used. This is not harmful and will stop
after a short while. Please ensure adequate
ventilation during this process.
1. Remove the individual parts from the

packaging.

2. Check that the individual parts are all

present (see “1.2 Scope of supply” on
page 3) and are undamaged.

3. Clean the appliance thoroughly before

using it for the first time (see
“10. Cleaning” on page 12).

4. Place the appliance on a level, dry, non-

slip surface so that the appliance can
neither fall over nor slide off.

5. Stand the cooking pot 3 in the base 5.

6. Pour half a litre of water into the cooking

pot 3.

7. Place the lid 1 on the cooking pot 3.
8. Insert the plug into a suitable earthed

socket (see “3. Technical data” on
page 4).

9. Turn the control knob to the 7 setting

“HIGH”.
The indicator light will 6 come on and
the appliance will begin heating up.

10.Allow the appliance to operate switched

on for approximately 60 minutes.

11. Switch the appliance off by turning the

control knob 7 to “OFF”.

12. Disconnect the mains plug.
13. Let the appliance cool down and then

clean it again (see “10. Cleaning” on
page 12).

The appliance is now ready to use.

6. Operating the appliance

6.1 Cooking

Warning! Always connect the
appliance only to an earthed
mains socket, otherwise you will
not be properly protected from an
electric shock.

1. Put the food in the cooking pot 3.
2. Add at least 1 cup of liquid.

Beans and hard vegetables such as
carrots or potatoes should always be
completely covered with water while
cooking.

For best results, fill the cooking pot about
half full.
It should contain at least 1 litre and at most
3 litres of food 3 including the liquid.

3. Stand the cooking pot3 in the base 5.
4. Place the lid 1 on the cooking pot 3.
5. Insert the plug into a suitable earthed

socket (see “3. Technical data” on
page 4).
