4.2 Recommendations for installation
4.2.1 Installation in drainage pits
The installation of pressure regulators in drainage pits is not to be recom-
mended for the following reasons:
• The pressure regulator could be damaged by frost.
• Inspection and maintenance are difficult to perform there.
• The manometer is more difficult to read.
4.2.2 Water hammer in piping
Water hammer is one of the chief causes for the malfunction of pressure
regulators. If a risk of water hammer exists in the system, a special device
must be installed to counteract it.
