2 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
2.1 General description
The pressure regulators Type 2950 are devices for installation in domestic
water systems to reduce the input pressure coming from the public water
mains. As a rule, the mains pressure is too high and variable to be used di-
rectly in the domestic system.
With the pressure regulator Type 2950, the desired pressure can be preset
before installation. After installation, the pressure adapts automatically to the
preset value.
2.2 Design characteristics
2.2.1 Presetting the pressure regulator
The pressure regulator has an adjust-
able knob with a scale for presetting the
pressure. The scale can be read from
two sides.
The value shown increases by turning
the knob clockwise. In this way the
system pressure can be continuously
adjusted and displayed in steps of 0.5
bar.
2.2.2 Balanced seat
The pressure regulator is equipped with
a balanced seat.
This means that the set pressure re-
mains constant on the output side,
independent of variations at the input.
The opening pressure acting on the
equalizing piston is compensated by the
closing pressure.
