Reference values for sheet steel are valid for unalloyed steel up to 0.3% C when oxygen with a

purity of at least 99.5% is used.
Acetylene consumption with neutral flame setting is approximately identical to the oxygen
consumption. Oxygen surplus is recommended for heating operations and acetylene surplus for

brazing operations.
