3.3.2 Start up
Please read through the operating instructions and safety instructions
attentively before you put the butt fusion welding machine into operation!
During operation, stay a safe distance away from the machine, and do
not reach into the rotating knife!
 Use the shrouded plug to connect the mains cable to the
400V 3 P 50/60 Hz / 63 A power supply unit.
 Switch on the main switch mounted on the back of the
machine.
 Now start the controller from the control panel.
The white indicator light will come on and the following
page will be displayed on the touch screen:
 Touch the button (”Settings“) to display the
following page:
The time, date and language can be set up from here.
Pressure and temperature offsets as well as the
temperature controller hysteresis can also be set up
from here.

Touch the (”Continue“) button to display the
heater system’s inputting screen page:
Danger of being burnt! The heater can reach
temperatures of up to 280°C!
 The heater’s default temperature must be entered via
this screen page.
Use the keypad that has been displayed on the screen
to enter the new default temperature and then touch
”RET“ to confirm it. Touch the button afterwards
to activate the heater. The relevant status indicator will
now light up.
 Touch the (”Continue“) button to display the
hydraulic system’s inputting screen page:

Switch the hydraulic pump on and then touch the
(“Continue“) button.
Touch the button (”Return“) to return to the
previous inputting screen page.
Note: Lock the pressure!
 Move the control lever over to the right and simultaneously touch the upper button to
activate the ‘lock pressure’ function.
Move the lever to the left or just touch the button to switch this function off
