8. Information on mounting and operation in

hazardous areas (Europe)

In hazardous areas, only use temperature transmitters that are

approved for those hazardous areas. The approval is marked on the

product label.

8.2 Specific conditions for safe use
T24.10.xx2
: Transmitters in a hazardous area should only be powered

by associated intrinsically safe apparatus that are approved for the

relevant hazardous area. The temperature transmitter must be mounted

in an enclosure that meets a minimum ingress protection of IP 20 per

EN 60529/IEC 529.

T24.10.xx2 for category II 1G/IIC in addition: The surface of

the casing is not conductive. The temperature transmitter must be

mounted in such a way that no electrostatic charging can occur. This is

ensured, for example, by mounting the transmitter into an electrically-

conductive connection head.
