Rotor F-55-16-5-PCR is a fixed-angle rotor for centrifuging 16 PCR tubes (0.2 ml) or two 5x or
8x rows of 0.2 ml PCR tubes in the Mini Spin

®

, MiniSpin

®

plus and MiniSpin

®

SPACE. The field

of application for this rotor is the research, routine and training laboratory in the fields of biosci-
ences, medicine, clinical diagnostics, industry and chemistry.

Before using the rotor for the first time, please read this information sheet.

For your personal safety, please be sure to comply with the following regulations
unconditionally.

Rotor F-55-16-5-PCR must only be used in the MiniSpin

®

, MiniSpin

®

plus and MiniSpin

®

SPACE centrifuges for the fields of application mentioned. Use only original Eppendorf
spare parts, rotors and rotor lids.

Rotors and rotor lids must always be properly secured. The centrifuge may only be
operated with the rotor firmly tightened.

Protect the rotor and the rotor lid from mechanical damage. Even minor scratches and
cracks can result in serious internal material damage. Avoid damage from aggressive
chemicals including, among other things, strong and weak alkalis, strong acids, solutions of
mercury, copper and other heavy metal ions, chlorinated hydrocarbons, concentrated salt
solutions and phenol. If the rotor is contaminated by aggressive substances, clean it
immediately with a neutral agent (e.g. Extran

®

neutral, RBS

®

neutral or Teepol

®

610 S).

Do not use rotors and rotor lids with clear signs of corrosion or mechanical damage.
You should accordingly check the rotor and the rotor lid regularly.

Seal tube lids down properly before centrifuging. Open tube lids may rip off during
centrifugation and damage the centrifuge, the rotor and the rotor lid.

When handling toxic liquids or pathogenic microorganisms of risk group II (see World Health
Organization: Laboratory Biosafety Manual), comply with the relevant national regulations.
If the named liquids are spilled in the rotor or rotor chamber, the centrifuge must be
thoroughly and professionally cleaned. Before any cleaning or disinfecting method other
than that in Item 5 "Cleaning" is used, please check with Eppendorf that the intended
method will not damage the rotor and the rotor lid.
