Fitting and removing the rotor
Place the rotor on the motor shaft followed by the rotor nut. Tighten the rotor nut by turning it
clockwise. Before each start, check that the rotor is firmly tightened. To undo the rotor: turn the
rotor nut anticlockwise.
Loading the rotor
The rotor must always be loaded symmetrically. Minimize differences in weight between the
filled sample tubes - taring with a scale is recommended. This will reduce wear on the drive and
cut running noise.
16 PCR tubes (0.2 ml) or two 5x or 8x row 0.2 ml PCR tubes with the following performance data
can be centrifuged in the rotor:
* rcf = Relative centrifugal force
Maximum load (tubes and contents) per 8x row with this rotor is 3.5 g.
The rotor may only be centrifuged with the rotor lid tightened in accordance with specification. To
do this, push the rotor lid with the seal onto the rotor nut so that the edge of the rotor lid is located
in the circumferential groove of the rotor.
The rotor and the rotor lid can be cleaned with a neutral agent (e.g. Extran ® neutral, RBS ®
neutral, Teepol
®
610 S). Bacillol
®
AF, Meliseptol
®
und Perform
®
are recommended for
cleaning and disinfecting the rotor and the rotor bores.
The rotor and the rotor lid can be autoclaved (121 °C, 20 min.).
