audio system or directly into your computer.
The DUMMYBOX has been designed and built by people who - from their own experience as musicians - take guitar sound and quality very
seriously. The DUMMYBOX is built with the utmost care in order to meet all professional standards and to never let you down, whether you use it at

DUMMYBOX PANEL FUNCTIONS

HOME MODEL
[1] OUTPUTS
: These jack, cinch and mini-jack connectors provide an unbalanced direct output e.g. for connecting a mixing
console, a computer or a home audio system. The output signal is at line level (-10 dBV).

STUDIO MODEL
[1] LIFT/GND SWITCH
: Connects or disconnects pin 1 of the XLR connector. It can be used to eliminate hum caused by a
ground-loop.
DI OUTPUT: This XLR connector provides a 600 Ohms fully transformer balanced direct output for recording or PA. The
output signal is at microphone level (-20 dBV)

BOTH MODELS
[2] FILTER SELECTOR
: This switch provides a choice between an unfiltered or a filtered output signal. The filter emulates the
typical recording characteristic of a microphone placed in front of a guitar speaker.

VOICING SELECTORS: These selectors change the slope of the filters inside the DUMMYBOX.
[3] This switch provides selection between the placing of a microphone pointed straigth to the centre of the speaker (axis) or
pointed more to the edge (off-axis) which results in less bright sound, very suitable for recording of distorted sounds.
[4] This selector selects emulation of the typical characteristics of either a 1x12 or a 4x12 speaker cabinet. The 4x12 position
offers higher low-end pressure and more low-mids.

[5] MONITOR OUTPUT: This jack provides the speaker output signal of your amp, only at a much lower volume. Any speaker
or speaker cabinet with an impedance of 4, 8 or 16 Ohms can be connected.

[6] H/M/L SELECTOR: With this switch the volume of the monitor signal [5] can be set at three different levels: H (high), M
(medium) or L (low).

[7] THRU OUTPUT: This jack is directly linked to the IN jack [8]. It provides the speaker output signal of your amp and
disconnects the 8 Ohms 60W Dummyload.

[8] IN / GUITAR AMP'S SPEAKER OUTPUT: This input jack must be connected to the speaker output jack of your guitar
amplifier.
- If NO speaker or speaker cabinet is connected to the THRU [7] jack, this IN jack provides an 8 Ohm 60W dummy load which
replaces the cabinet/speaker of your amp. Therefore this IN jack must be connected TO THE 8 OHM OUTPUT of your amp. If
your amp has a separate impedance selector it must be SET AT 8 OHMS.
- If a cabinet/speaker IS connected to the THRU [7] jack, the 8 Ohm 60W dummy load is automatically diconnected and the
cabinet/speaker is connected to your amp. Now the cabinet/speaker loads your amp and the output impedance of your amp
MUST BE THE SAME as the impedance of the cabinet/speaker.

For example: if you connect a 16 Ohm cabinet to the THRU [7] jack you must connect this IN jack to the 16 Ohm output of
your amp.

ALWAYS USE THE INCLUDED CABLE OR A SPECIAL JACK-TO-JACK SPEAKER CABLE AND NEVER USE A GUITAR
CABLE!
