UPS: Select the type "MPS1068/AUP−X−300−V4" from the list.
Execute program: While the UPS software in the case of a mains failure counts down
the seconds until shutdown, an external program can be started. Enter the program
here (
¶ 63).
Port: If you set a fixed COM port, the standard address is accepted automatically. If you
select the entry "User−defined", you can freely set the address in the range of 0100h to
03F8h via the arrows next to the address field. Changes will only be accepted after a
restart of the PC.
Shutdown: Defines the way the operating system is shut down. As a standard the
"Shutdown" option is set.
The "Fast shutdown" option defines a forced shutdown of the operating system. Here
all programs are aborted and the system is shut down without consideration of
feedbacks. Please note: This setting can result in data loss with the running
applications!
Time until shutdown: Here you can set the time from the power failure to the
shutdown in intervals of 15 seconds. At a maximum, 2 minutes can be set. If the box
"Wait until battery−low signal" is activated, the sliding controller cannot be shifted. In
this setting the computer is buffered by the UPS as long as possible.
Time until message: Here you can set a time from 0 to 10 seconds between the mains
failure and the appearance of the message window. This can be helpful if short−time
mains failures occur and a message window is not to appear immediately.
3. Click Next.
The program now tries to verify the UPS. If the UPS is not recognised under the port
selected, please check the external RS232 cable connection from the computer to the
UPS and ensure that the UPS really is connected to the port selected. The setup program
then again calls the dialog for the settings.
In order to activate the UPS software, Windows must be restarted.
4. Select "Restart Windows" and click "OK".
The UPS software now is installed. Every time after Windows has been started, the UPS
is activated automatically.
