Installation Manual - Solar-Log™ RS485 Wireless Package

26 Installation

The Wireless modules are identical so it does not matter which module is connected to the Solar-Log™ unit

and which one is connected to the inverters.

Both connection cables are ready-made and ready-to-connect.

Note

!

Never slice the cables. The cable included is equipped with an RS485 termi-

nal block. The connection to the first inverter is established with the help of the

matching adapter cable.

261 Procedure

Check that the DIP switches on both Wireless modules are set to

position 5 and 6 have to be identical on both modules and are not to be changed.

Their settings are independent of the inverters.

Turn the Solar-Log™ off.

Connect one of the Wireless modules to the RS485 interface of the Solar-Log™ with the Solar-Log™
Wireless Package cable. The Wireless module is powered by the Solar-Log™. A separate power
supply unit is not required.

Connect the second Wireless module to the RS232 connector of the Wireless Package inverter
cable. The other end of the cable has a plug to connect a matching Solar-Log™ inverter cable.

Follow the Solar-Log™ Manual and the inverter instructions to connect the cable to the inverter, to
adjust the inverter settings and to connect them together. Observe the safety precautions.

Connect the Wireless module for the inverter with the 12V power supply provided.

The wireless connection has to be configured in the Solar-Log™ before the inverter detection can
be carried out.

The wireless connection has to be selected in the Solar-Log™ WEB menu under Configuration |
Devices | Definition.
