Start of operation

Note: The stainless steel bin can be opened or
closed by means of the automatic sensor, the press
of a button or by hand. Manual opening or closing
has no effect on the operation of the sensor or
buttons.
Note: Switch the device off if the lid

neither

opens nor closes manually or automatically. To do
this move the ON / OFF switch

into position 0

(OFF). Then move the ON / OFF switch

back

into position 1 (ON) to open or close the lid by
means of the sensor or manually.

Using the automatic sensor

Press

I (ON) on the ON / OFF button

at

the back of the device. The LED

will flash

red (standby operation).

Move your hand within the detection range of

the sensor

(see Fig. B).

Note: The detection range is approx. 10–15 cm.

The

lid

will open automatically. The LED

will emit a green light. The lid

cally shut after approx. 5–6 seconds.

Press

0 (OFF) on the ON / OFF button

the back of the device if you are not going to
use the automatic sensor for any length of time.
This will extend the lifetime of the batteries.

Opening / shutting the lid by

Cleaning and care

CAUTION! The top part of the stainless steel

bin must not be immersed into water. Otherwise
this may lead to damage of the top part.

Never use any corrosive detergents that have

substances that contain chlorine or acid in them.

Clean the whole top part with a moist cloth and,

if need be, a mild detergent.

Clean the stainless steel areas with a commercial

stainless steel cleaner and a microfibre cloth.

Note: Please pay attention to the manufacturer’s
instructions.

Clean the plastic inner bucket with a moist cloth

and, if need be, a mild detergent or rinse under
running water. The plastic inner bucket must be
completely dry before putting it into the stainless
steel bin again.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recy-
clable materials, which you may dispose
of at local recycling facilities.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for
more details of how to dispose of your worn-out
product.

To help protect the environment, please
dispose of the product properly when it
has reached the end of its useful life and
not in the household waste. Information
on collection points and their opening
hours can be obtained from your local
authority.

Batteries should not be disposed
of in normal domestic waste!

Batteries must not be disposed off with domestic
waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and
are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and
regulations. The chemical symbols of the heavy
metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury,
