4. Installation of the safety sensor

Initial installation of the safety sensor (retrofit kit)
ATTENTION !
In order that the safety sensor can clearly identify the signal,
a longer locking pin has to be installed (supplied).
Disassembly (Fig.)
Requirements:

•The hitch must be closed.
Tools:
x
Hex spanner 6 mm, pliers, rubber hammer, pin
Work steps:
x
Clean the hitch thoroughly, remove 2 bolts (A), remove the
support cap (B).
Installation of the locking pin (Fig.)
x Open the hitch, use a pin to push the lever (A) to the back and
block it. At the same time, remove the hitch pin (B), replace the
spring (D) with the locking pin (c) short for the new locking pin
long (supplied) and fix with the pliers.
x Replace the hitch pin (B). Insert the lever into the guide of the
hitch pin. Close the hitch to check it is functioning correctly
and open it again. Then mount the red marking ring (X) on the
locking pin (c) with a rubber hammer.
caution – risk of injury!
The spring is under tension. Wear gloves.
Note:
Observe the position of the red marking ring, closed surface
outwards.
