The Controller Window

(Single Controller View)

Figure 4: The Controller window

To view the window of any given controller, double-click its icon in
the tree of the CONTROLLER or GROUPS box. The tree indicates the
controller by its IP address or name. A Controller window has a fi xed size
and cannot be scaled.

An open Controller window lets you:
• Select the speaker series and fi lter setup in popup menus
• Save and access scenes (ten user presets): You have ten slots available

for saving entire user confi gurations. You can name these scenes and
load them from a list on your PC by clicking the LOAD button.

• View the controller’s IP address, group assignment, and name or name

change

Note: The IP address may be changed at the controller only.

• View phase, mute, delay, and level (indicator and fader) settings for

each channel’s inputs and outputs

• Change the delay unit to meters, milliseconds, feet, or samples for each

channel

Note: This is a global edit affecting all channels and controllers. Delay
values given in units of m and ft depend on the temperature setting ad-
justed under Admin/Utilities/Temperature on the controller. The FIRNET
always stores delay values as samples per ms. It converts the information
given at a sampling frequency of 96 kHz and indicates it as delay time in
ms. (ms = samples / 96). Then the speed of sound (m = c * ms / 1000) is
factored into the conversion equation. It varies according to temperature,
which is why you must enter the air temperature to the FIRNET to ensure
this conversion yields the correct result.

• View the controller’s assignment to one and only one of the 16 groups.

Multiple assignments would be pointless and are therefore not an
option.

• View AES In, Ext Sync, and Keylock statuses
• Open the Stereo Input EQ for this controller
• View the fi lter in the output channel under the respective Output fader
