Settings for HK AUDIO VX 2400 amps:
- Gain VX 2400: + 35 dBu
- Max Output (FIRNET): + 6 dBu

If the FIRNET’s limiter is set to dBu levels other those indicated,
connected speakers may be damaged or destroyed because the FIRNET
will not be able to effectively attenuate signals.

3.8 FIRNET Firmware

The LIPAN application lets you load new fi rmware versions to FIRNET
controllers.

Heads up! Do not press any keys during the firmware update!

Note: A firmware update automatically deletes filter data stored in the
FIRNET controller’s memory. Be sure to also download your user presets
to a computer for temporary storage because the device does retain user
presets after an update. Once you have successfully updated the FIRNET
controller, you can load these presets back to the same memory slots.

To update firmware, proceed as follows:
• Connect the given controller to your computer via the network ports.
• Once you have installed and launched the LIPAN application on

your computer, it scans the selected range of IP addresses. When the
application fi nds the controller, the user panel opens, showing this
controller in the Main menu.

• Go to the CONTROLLER menu and select the option UPDATE FIRM-

WARE. Follow the instructions on your screen.

• Select from the directory displayed on your computer the fi le with the

latest fi rmware and double-click it. A table appears showing all cont-
rollers that the LIPAN has identifi ed as being online, and their current
fi rmware status. Select the controllers you wish to load the new fi rm-
ware to. Click the SEL. ALL button if you wish to update all controllers.
Click OK to start the update.

When the update routine fi nishes, switch all devices off by cutting the
mains power to them, and then switch them back on again. It takes
about 30 seconds for the controller to reboot.

Note: When the display is restarted during the firmware update, the
boot reading remains in the display for about one minute. Please wait
until this routine is concluded!

All controller data are updated during this time, and then the controller
automatically reboots. The contrast value is set to 15, indicated the
fi rmware has been updated successfully. Set the contrast to the desired
value and start loading the fi lters you need.
