5. Operation • Connect the instrument to the
mains supply (230 V, 50 Hz)
(115 V, 60 Hz).
• Press the power button.
• Activate the vacuum pump with
the vacuum key
• Place a test chart on the
appropriate area. Fix the chart in
position by either clamping, or
activating the vacuum bed. (If the
test chart does not cover all of the
perforations in the selected area,
use an adhesive tape to cover the
remaining perforations.)
• Put a paper tape under the end of
the test chart, so that excessive
coating material is drained without
staining the edge of the vacuum
bed.
• Use the Return key to return the
traverse of carriage into the
starting position left.
• Select the required traverse
speed.
• Place an applicator block in front
of the traverse of carriage.
• Pour a quantity of the coating
material (e.g. paint) on the test
chart according to the applicator
type.
• Move the applicator at constant
speed to the right position.
Remove any excess material from
the wire cator.
• Return the traverse of carriage to
its starting position.
• Switch off the vacuum pump.
• Remove the test chart.
