2 Description
2.1 TechniNet BS4 (0000/5950) base unit
The TechniNet BS4 Light is a base unit that accepts SkyCable cards for professional satellite
signal processing of satellite television signals to feed in a CATV net. The four slots for four
converter cards, efficient power supply with safety features, and numerous connection options
enable this head station to fulfil every conceivable usage scenario.
The inbuilt 4/8 multi-switch saves expensive internal cabling in the base unit and provides four
fully-functional satellite inputs that generate 15V signals for controlling the LNB. This gives the
receiver cards unlimited access to all four IF levels. Naturally, the system also has inputs and
outputs for SAT IF signals, enabling these signals to be distributed from one base unit to another
in cascade mode.

This top-quality switching mode power supply with constant ventilation ensures that sufficient
power is available and protects against high temperatures and current loads. 2 temperature-
controlled fans are incorporated in the housing to improve thermal stability for the components
by removing the hot air from the housing.
The base unit can be controlled using the programming remote control via a cable connection. In
addition, there is the option of using an Ethernet connection to enable programming over the LAN
via a laptop with the TechniNet Management Software (TMS).
The TWIN card output signals are feed over the preinstalled collection area and boosted via the
integrated hybrid amplifier to an output level of up to 96 dBµV.
