3.1 Wall mounting

Use four screws to attach the base unit to the two pre-mounted angle brackets against a firm,
non-flammable background.
Ensure there is clearance of at least 20 cm above the base unit. Never cover the ventilator air
output slits.

3.2 Earthing

Carry out potential equalisation on the head station in accordance with regulations and observe
the relevant provisions of EN 50083-1/EN 60728-11 at all times. Connect the head station PA
connector to the PA equalising bar via a copper wire of at least 4mm² (green/yellow).

3.3 Connecting the power supply

Connect the base unit low heat socket to a properly functioning mains socket (230V~/50Hz)
using the mains cable supplied.

This enables you to switch on the TechniNet BS4 Light base station via the mains switch. The
device is immediately ready for use.

Only use the original mains cable supplied.

3.4 Connecting the SAT IF inputs and outputs

Use Quattro-LNBs (Low Noise Block Converter). Quattro Switch LNBs are not suitable.
Always use your professional measuring device to check the SAT IF signal quality and ensure that
the signal levels are within the input level range of the multi-switch. The level should be approx. 80
dBµV

.

Attach the SAT IF cables to the appropriately marked inputs on the base units and check whether
potential equalisation needs to be carried out on the coaxial cable.

The maximum LNB remote feed current is 300mA per input and is short-circuit-proof.

The outputs are used to loop the SAT IF signals through to
another base unit. Cascading more than two devices is not
recommended because of the increase in level difference
in the input signal. Unused SAT looping outputs must be
terminated using the enclosed terminal resistors.

3.5 Connecting the HF outputs

The integrated collection area in the TechniNet BS4 Light base unit switches the channel strips
to the HF output. Attach the CATV network coaxial cable to the RF output port on the base unit
and check whether potential equalisation needs to be carried out on the coaxial cable.

Feed the output signals from several BS4 base units via an external diplexer.
