Function of the digital I/O interface
Factory-set the digital I/O interface is configurated as
fault indicator for internal faults (e. g. valve,
VARIO pump, sensor failure, ....) as well as for external faults (apparatus / application of the user).
The digital I/O interface has a galvanically isolated switching input and switching output.
The LED indicates via change of the colour the switching status of the input and the output and therefore
the kind of error:
The LED indicates the switching status of the input and the output:
- green: no fault, signal at the input correct (5-75 VDC or 5-50 VAC), output switched (switching out-
put closed).
- yellow: internal fault (valve, VARIO pump, sensor failure, ....), signal at the input correct (5-75 VDC
or 5-50 VAC), output not switched (switching contact open).
- red: external fault: signal at the input incorrect (< 5 VDC or 5 VAC), output not switched (switching
contact open).
Error messages have to be quit (deleted) after elimination of the fault by pressing key START/STOP at
the CVC 3000.
When using the digital interface with the controller CVC 3000 or VNC 2 or the measurement de-
vice DCP 3000 a signal (5-75 VDC oder 5-50 VAC) at the input is necessary. Otherwise vacuum
control is stopped and / or the device indicates a fault (flashing warning triangle).
Only if using the CVC 3000 or the DCP 3000 the digital I/O interface can be configurated for function
“Remote (Start - Stop)” or “End” or „Valve“ (Isol.v. 1 2 3 4, Waterv. 1 2 3 4, Air. V. 1 2 3 4, VMS 1 2 3).
Notes concerning the configuration see section “Configuration of the interfaces).
-
Remote module (Start - Stop): Pressure control can be started with a signal (5-75 VDC or 5-50
VAC) at the input of the interface. The output contact indicates the status of the control (switching
contact closed: control is running). Control stops if there is no voltage signal at the input (output
switching contact closed).
The LED indicates the operation status: red indicates Stop, green indicates Start.
-
End module: In this configuration no signal at the input is necessary. At the output e. g. a valve ( e.
g. venting valve) or a relais is connected which opens if process control is stopped.
-
Valve adapter module: The digital I/O interface can be used as interface for exsisting (provided by
the customer) isolation, coolant or venting valves or a VACUUBRAND VMS module, if these com-
ponents are not equipped with a VACUU•BUS
TM
connection. The component has to be connected to
the output of the module (an additional voltage supply is necessary).
