Controls fitted at the back of the unit
1 LINE IN: balanced input XLR
2 RCA: unbalanced input
3 Power indicator: This indicator is red when the unit is in ‘Stand-by’ mode and the
unit will switch over to ‘On’ mode as soon as it receives an incoming music signal.
The indicator changes to green in ‘On’ mode.
4 Mains switch: Disconnects the unit from the mains power supply.
5 Mains power supply socket
6 BASS ADJUST: this switch is a three-level room adjustment control for resetting the
lower bass range.
7 TWEETER GAIN: this tweeter adjustment control gives you an adjustment range of
± 3 dB for setting up the room adjustment system to your own satisfaction.
8 FREQUENCY: this adjustment control lets you choose a frequency range between
30Hz – 200Hz, which can be matched to the adjustment control listed under
section (9).
9 BASS EQ: this adjustment control, which works in conjunction with the FREQUENCY
adjustment control, alters the amplification of the music signal from +6 dB to -6 dB.
Note:
If the indicator (3) starts to flash then the unit’s protection circuit has switched the
speaker off due to an error or overloading. The unit can only be reset by switching
the mains switch (5) at the back of the unit off and back on again.
Installing
1. Check that the unit is switched off.
2. Use the power cable supplied by us to connect the active speaker to the power
supply.
3. Connect up the unit’s inputs to your preamplifier’s outputs.
4. It is best to use a XLR cable for the connection.
XLR pin assignments: Pin 1= ground; Pin 2 = plus / signal; Pin 3 = signal / minus)
5. Now switch the active speaker and your preamplifier on and your AURUM active
speaker will be ready to play music approx. 5 seconds after it receives the music
signal.
