MIDLAND 777 è la soluzione tecnologica più avanzata ed efficiente nella generazione dei
ricetrasmettitori portatili.
Dal design moderno ed accattivante, questo nuovo gioiello della radiocomunicazione è più
piccolo di una carta di credito.
Dotato di display LCD alfanumerico e retroilluminato e di pratici tasti per richiamare facilmente le
sue molteplici funzioni come il VIBRALARM e la funzione VOX che consente una comunicazione
a mani libere.
Le sue dimensioni ULTRA SOTTILI e compatte vi permettono di portarlo sempre con voi e di
utilizzarlo in qualsiasi contesto.
MIDLAND 777 è dotato di “caratteristiche tecniche estremamente innovative” come il pacco
batteria al “LITIO” che consente un’autonomia fino a 21 ore.
La generazione MIDLAND 777 è stata ideata per poter racchiudere nelle sue piccole dimensioni
le qualità di una grande radio, fornendo una valida alternativa alla telefonia nelle comunicazioni a
media distanza e garantendovi ottime prestazioni a costo zero.

Vano pacco batteria
Svitare la vite che fissa la clip; spingere il coperchio del vano
batteria verso il basso ed inserire il pacco batteria come
illustrato.
Illuminazione Display:
alla pressione di uno di questi 3 tasti ( MODE e / )
il display si illumina per circa 5 secondi.
Copertura riferita alla banda PMR
Le prestazioni dei ricetrasmettitori dipendono dalle condizioni ambientali ed atmosferiche. Fattori ambien-
tali quali alture, edifici, alberi, fogliame possono diminuire la copertura. Le prestazioni ottimali si ottengono
in campo aperto mentre la portata si potrà ridurre, per esempio all’interno di un’automobile o di un edificio.
Tipicamente la copertura in città, in presenza di edifici è di 1 o 2 Km. In campo aperto, ma con presenza di
alberi, case, fogliame, la copertura è di 4-6 Km. In campo aperto, a vista e senza nessun tipo di interferen-
za, come per esempio in montagna, la copertura può essere anche superiore ai 10 Km.

ED ORA, PRONTI A COMUNICARE!
Accensione
Premere e tenere premuto il tasto MODE [4] per circa 3 secondi. MIDLAND 777 emetterà 3 beep di tonalità
diverse; il display [1] eseguirà un auto test per un secondo e visualizzerà l’ultimo canale utilizzato.
Regolazione volume
Per regolare il volume sul livello ottimale, premere i tasti / [7] finché non si ottiene il livello desiderato.
Selezione canali
Premere una volta il tasto MODE [4] e di seguito i tasti / [7] per selezionare il canale desiderato.
Premere PTT [8] per confermare la selezione effettuata oppure attendere circa 5 secondi.
Chiamare (trasmettere)
Tenere premuto il tasto PTT [8]. Parlare ad una distanza di circa 5/10 cm dal microfono, con un tono di voce
normale. Il display [1] visualizza “TX”.
Rilasciate il tasto PTT [8] al termine della conversazione. Il Vs. MIDLAND 777 invierà al vs. interlocutore
una nota di fine trasmissione ( Roger Beep) per avvisare la persona con cui state comunicando che avete
finito di parlare.
(La funzione normalmente è disabilitata, per abilitarla vedi paragrafo “Roger beep”).
Ascolto (Ricezione)
Al rilascio del tasto PTT [8] la vostra radio rimane in modalità di ascolto. La ricezione di un segnale verrà
indicata con la scritta ”RX”.
Auto power save
MIDLAND 777 è dotato di un dispositivo automatico di risparmio batterie che consente di ridurre i
consumi delle batterie fino al 50%; se la radio non riceve alcun segnale per circa 7 secondi la funzione
viene attivata automaticamente.
Ricarica
Quando il pacco batteria è scarico, l’icona lampeggia sul display, occorre quindi procedere
alla ricarica prima possibile altrimenti la radio, per evitare l’ulteriore scarica della batteria, passa in
modalità “solo recezione”. La ricarica dell’apparato può avvenire in due modi, inserendolo nell’apposito
caricatore da tavolo, oppure utilizzando il caricatore da muro direttamente nella presa CHG dell’apparato
stesso.
Quando la radio è in ricarica, l’icona della batteria scompare e viene mostrata la scritta “ Ch”.
Se la radio viene posta in carica spenta, sul display compare la scritta “Ch” e quando la batteria sarà
totalmente carica, la scritta “Ch” scompare dal display e appare “FL” per circa 1 minuto.
Se invece la radio viene posta in carica accesa, la scritta “Ch” si alternerà con la visualizzazione del
canale in uso e quando la batteria è totalmente carica “Ch” sarà sostituito da “FL”.
Blocco tastiera
Mantenere premuto il tasto SCAN [3] per più di 3 secondi. Il simbolo che appare sul display per circa tre
secondi indica la sua attivazione. Solo il tasto PTT rimane attivo. Per la disattivazione, premere e tenere
premuto nuovamente il tasto SCAN [3] per più di 3 secondi.
ALTRE FUNZIONI
VOX: trasmissione a mani libere
Attivazione funzione VOX
Premere tre volte il tasto MODE [4]. Sul display viene visualizzata la scritta “VOX” lampeggiante in alto
a sinistra, mentre a destra del n° canale apparirà la scritta “of”. Tramite i tasti o [7] selezionate uno
dei due livelli di sensibilità del VOX e premete il tasto PTT [8], oppure aspettate 5 secondi per confermare
l’operazione.
Per trasmettere parlare verso il microfono [6] oppure utilizzare uno dei tanti accessori compatibili: con
questa funzione la trasmissione è attivata automaticamente.
Disattivazione funzione VOX
Premere nuovamente per tre volte il tasto MODE [4]. Sul display viene visualizzata la scritta “VOX”
lampeggiante in alto a sinistra, mentre a destra del numero del canale apparirà il livello che avevate
selezionato. Tramite i tasti / [7] selezionate la scritta “off” e premete il tasto PTT [8] oppure aspettate
5 secondi per confermare l’operazione.
ROGER BEEP: Tonalità di conferma fine conversazione
Al rilascio del tasto PTT [8], quindi alla fine di ogni trasmissione, viene emessa una tonalità che indica al
vostro interlocutore che può iniziare a parlare. Nell’ ALAN777 questa funzione è disattivata di default.
Attivazione:
1. Premere 6 volte il tasto MODE [4] finché sul display compare “ rb oF”.
2. Con i tasti o [7] selezionare “oN”
3. Premere il tasto PTT [8] oppure aspettare 5 secondi per confermare la programmazione.
4. Il Roger Beep adesso è attivato.
SCAN: Scansione dei canali
SCAN esegue la scansione (ASCOLTO) di tutti i canali occupati.
Si utilizza per controllare le conversazioni su tutti i canali. In presenza di un segnale su un canale
(quindi di una conversazione), la scansione si interrompe. Nel caso in cui sia presente un disturbo o una
conversazione non desiderata è possibile far avanzare la scansione premendo i tasti o .
Durante questa funzione è presente il riconoscimento automatico ( CTCSS detector) dei toni subaudio
in ricezione, ovvero la radio si fermerà sui canali dove è presente un segnale e il display mostrerà il tono
subaudio utilizzato dal chiamante. Il tono CTCSS decodificato non viene automaticamente impostato in
trasmissione dalla radio è necessario quindi, per poter comunicare, impostarlo manualmente.

Attivazione funzione SCAN
1. Premere il tasto SCAN [3]: sul display [1] i canali cominceranno a scorrere.
2. Premere i tasti o [7] per evitare temporaneamente l’ascolto di canali che presentano un forte
rumore di fondo o una conversazione non desiderata.
Trasmissione durante funzione SCAN
Alla pressione del pulsante PTT [8] la radio trasmette sul canale da dove si è fatta partire la scansione
oppure sul canale occupato utilizzando il tono subaudio pre-impostato.
Per disattivare la funzione, premere nuovamente SCAN [3]
Squelch
Nel MIDLAND 777 il filtro per la riduzione del rumore di fondo (squelch) è attivo di default.
É sempre possibile “aprire” lo Squelch per estendere la copertura di ricezione: premere il tasto MODE
finché il display mostra “SL of”. Premete il tasto per scegliere “SL on” e attivare così la funzione di
Squelch sempre aperto. Per disattivare lo Squelch premere il tasto MODE.
Impostazione toni CTCSS
MIDLAND 777 può ricevere in due modalità:
a) “traffico aperto” in questo caso sentirete tutte le conversazioni trasmesse sul canale selezionato.
b) “modalità di gruppo CTCSS” I toni CTCSS funzionano come una sorta di codice di accesso e vi
consentono di comunicare solo con quegli utenti che hanno il Vs. stesso canale e codice. La radio
rimarrà silenziata fino al ricevimento del corretto tono CTCSS.
Procedimento per l’attivazione dei 38 toni CTCSS in RX e TX:
1. Accendere l’apparato.
2. Sezionare il canale desiderato.
3. Premere 2 volte il tasto MODE [4] finchè il display mostra il canale con il codice del tono CTCSS
lampeggiante a destra (“of” condizione di default).
4. Selezionare il tono CTCSS desiderato premendo i tasti / [7].
5. Per confermare l’impostazione, premere il tasto PTT [8] oppure attendere circa 5 secondi.
Procedimento per la disattivazione del tono CTCSS
Se non si vuole operare con alcun tono CTCSS:
1. Premere 2 volte il tasto MODE [4] finchè il display mostra il canale desiderato ed il codice del tono
CTCSS lampeggiante a destra.
2. Selezionare “ of” tramite i tasti / [7].
Alta e bassa potenza
Per limitare il consumo delle batterie è possibile abilitare la bassa potenza (selezionabile solo nei canali
PMR).
Procedimento per l’attivazione della bassa potenza:
1. Accendere l’apparato
2. Premere 4 volte il tasto MODE [4], finchè il display mostra “Pr hi”.
3. Selezionare la bassa potenza premendo i tasti o [7].
4. Confermare premendo il tasto PTT [8] oppure attendere 5 secondi.
In questo modo MIDLAND 777 opererà in bassa potenza.
Beep tastiera
Nel caso si desideri escludere la suoneria dei tasti alla loro pressione è possibile farlo operando nel
seguente modo:
1. Accendere l’apparato
2. Premere 5 volte il tasto MODE [4], finchè il display mostra “bP on”.
3. Premendo i tasti o [7] fare in modo che il display mostri “bP of”.
4. Confermare premendo il tasto PTT [8] oppure attendere 5 secondi.
In questo modo tutte le volte che si preme un tasto non si sentirà alcun suono.
Tono di chiamata
MIDLAND 777 ha la possibilità di inviare tre tipi di toni di chiamata. Per inviarla occorre premere
rapidamente due volte il tasto PTT [8].
I toni possono essere selezionati nel seguente modo:
1. Accendere l’apparato
2. Premere 7 volte il tasto MODE [4], finchè il display mostra “CA 1”.
3. Premendo il tasto o [7] si possono udire le tre melodie preimpostate.
4. Confermare premendo PTT [8] oppure attendere 5 secondi.
In questo modo tutte le volte che viene inviato un tono di chiamata verrà utilizzata quella
determinata suoneria. Se si desidera inibire questa funzione impostare “of” sul display.
Nota: se è attiva anche la funzione Vibralarm (posizione ON) il tono di chiamata non verrà
udito.
Vibralarm
MIDLAND 777 è dotato del dispositivo “Vibralarm”, ovvero la possibilità di attivare il vibratore
interno al momento della ricezione del “TONO DI CHIAMATA”.
Per attivare ciò occorre eseguire le seguenti istruzioni:
1. Accendere l’apparato
2. Premere 8 volte il tasto
MODE [4], finchè il display mostra .
3. Premendo I tasti / si può inibire o attivare la funzione desiderata (2 diverse possibilità da
selezionare: ON e BO – BOTH, entrambi). Nota: Se si attiva la funzione BO, quando la radio
riceve una chiamata, vibra ed emette il tono di chiamata.
4. Confermare premendo il tasto PTT [8] oppure attendere 5 secondi.
In questo modo tutte le volte che viene ricevuto il tono di chiamata, MIDLAND 777 vibrerà.
Dual Watch
La funzione Dual Watch permette l’ascolto simultaneo di due canali a vostra scelta monitorandoli
ciclicamente. Per selezionare la funzione Dual Watch procedete nel modo seguente:
1) Accendere l’apparato
2) Selezionare il primo canale che si vuole “scansionare” (vedi Par. “Selezione Canali”)
3) Premere 9 volte il tasto MODE [4], finchè il display mostra “Rx Tx”
4) Tramite i tasti o si può attivare la funzione desiderata selezionando il secondo canale
che si vuole monitorare.
5) Confermare premendo il tasto PTT [8] oppure attendere 5 secondi. Il ricetrasmettitore
incomincia ad eseguire il monitoraggio tra i due canali.
6) Quando il ricetrasmettitore rileva la presenza di una trasmissione su uno dei due canali,
sospende temporaneamente il Dual Watch, rimanendo sintonizzato sul canale per tutta la
durata della comunicazione. Alla fine della comunicazione dopo circa 5 sec riprenderà la
funzione Dual Watch, se vogliamo comunicare con questo utente premere PTT [8].
7) Se si vuole comunicare durante la funzione Dual Watch premere PTT [8] e la radio trasmetterà
sul canale da cui abbiamo fatto partire il Dual Watch. Alla fine della nostra comunicazione
dopo 5 sec la radio riprenderà la scansione tra i 2 canali.
8) Per uscire dalla funzione Dual Watch premere brevemente il tasto SCAN [3].

Battery pack compartment
Hold the unit face down, unscrew the screw fixing the belt clip and
slide the cover towards the bottom of the radio. Then, insert the
battery pack as shown in this picture.
Display illumination
Press one of these buttons ( MODE and / ) to
activate display illumination for approximately
5 seconds.
Coverage (referred to PMR frequency band)
The maximum range depends on terrain condition and is obtained during use in an open space.
The only limitation to maximum possible range are environmental factors such as blockage caused by
trees, buildings, or other obstructions. Inside a car or a metallic constructions, the range can be reduced.
Normally the coverage in the city, with buidings or other obstructions is about 1 or 2 Km. In open space but
with obstructions like trees, leafs or houses the maximum possible range is about 4-6 Km. In open space,
without obstructions and in sight, like for example in mountain, the coverage can be more that 10 Km.

LET’S COMMUNICATE!
To turn radio on/off
Hold the MODE [4] button down for 3 seconds. The radio beeps 3 times with different tones (beeps may
be inhibited). The LCD [1] displays a “self-test” message for 1 second, it will then show the last channel
selected.
Volume adjustment
To adjust the volume level, push / [7] buttons until the required level is obtained.
Channel selection
Press the MODE [4] button once and then the / [7] controls to select one of the 8 channels. To confirm
the selection, push PTT [8] or wait for approximately 5 seconds.
Transmission
For maximum speech clarity, hold the radio 5 to 10 cm away from your mouth, keep the PTT button [8]
pressed and speak into the unit. During transmission the display shows “ TX”.
When the PTT [8] is released, the radio beeps to confirm to other users that your transmission has finished
(This function is disabled by default, to enable it see paragraph “Roger Beep”).
Reception
Simply release the PTT [8] button. When you receive a signal, “RX” is displayed.
Automatic power save
MIDLAND 777 is supplied with an automatic current economy circuit. If the transceiver receives no
signal for 7 seconds or longer the “power save function” automatically activates. This may increase the
battery life by up to 50 %.
Recharge
When the battery pack is discharged, the icon blinks on the display. Provide for the recharge, otherwise
to avoid a further discharge, the radio will switch to the modality “only reception”. The recharge can be done
in two ways: insert the radio into the proper seat of the desktop charger or use the wall adaptor.
When the radio is being charged, the icon disappears and “ Ch” is displayed.
If you charge the radio when it’s switched off, “Ch” appears on the display till the charge is complete; then
“Ch” will by replaced by “FL” which will disappear after one minute.
If you charge the radio when it’s switched on, “Ch” and the channel in use are alternately displayed. When
the recharge is complete, “FL” will be displayed instead of “Ch”.
Keypad lock
Press and hold the SCAN [3] button for longer than 3 seconds. The icon is displayed for 3 seconds to
confirm the lock has been activated. PTT button will still be active.
Repeat the same procedure to unlock the keypad.
KEY FUNCTIONS
VOX: hands-free transmission
VOX function activation
Press the MODE [4] key three times. The display shows “VOX” blinking at the top left, while on the right of
the channel number, “of” appears. Select one of the two levels by means of / [7] buttons and push the
PTT [8] key, or simply wait for 5 seconds for confirmation.
Speak into the microphone [6] or use one amongst the many compatible accessories: the transmission
is automatically activated.
VOX deactivation
Press the MODE [4] key again. The display shows “VOX” blinking at the top left, while on the right of the
channel number, the current sensitivity level will appear. Select “of” using the / [7] buttons and push
the PTT [8] key, or simply wait for 5 seconds for confirmation.
ROGER BEEP: end transmission tone
When PTT [8] is released the radio will beep to confirm to other users that your transmission has finished.
This feature is disabled by default.
To enable it, follow these steps:
1. Press the MODE [4] button 6 times until the LCD shows “rb oF”.
2. Select “oN” by using the / buttons [7].
3. Press PTT [8] key or wait for 5 seconds for confirmation.
4. Roger Beep is now activated.
SCAN FUNCTION
The SCAN mode monitors the busy channels.
It is used to check speech traffic on the channels before transmitting and allows the unit to stop on a
channel that someone is talking on. In case of undesired conversation, you can skip this channel by
pushing the / buttons [7].
When the SCAN function is enabled, the CTCSS detector is activated: the radio automatically detects the
sub-audio tone of the calling part, which will be displayed. The CTCSS tone received won’t be automatically
set during transmission and, therefore, to talk, it must be manually set.
(See par. “CTCSS sub-tone setting”)
To enable SCAN:
1. Press SCAN [3] key: channels will start scanning on the display [1].
2. Press or [7] buttons to skip the channels with a strong background noise or undesired
conversation.
Transmission during the SCAN function
Pressing PTT [8], the radio will transmit on the channel where the scan started or on the busy channel,
using the pre-set subaudio tone.
To deactivate this function, push the SCAN [3] key again.
Squelch
In your MIDLAND 777 the background noise reduction device (squelch) is activated at factory.
To extend the rx coverage, it is possible to open the Squelch: press the MODE key until “SL of” is displayed.
Select “ SL on” by means of the button. Press the MODE button to disable the function.
CTCSS-sub-tone setting
MIDLAND 777 can receive in two modes:
a) open traffic: in this case you will hear any communication transmitted on the selected channel.
b) group mode CTCSS: CTCSS tones are access keys that allow you to receive only messages coming
from parties using the same channel and code. The speaker will remain muted until the correct CTCSS
tone is received.
To activate 1 of 38 different CTCSS tones in RX and TX
1. Turn on the radio.
2. Select a channel.
3. Press twice the MODE [3] button until the display shows the channel with the flashing CTCSS code on
the right ( “of” = default condition).
4. Select with the / [7] buttons the desired CTCSS-Code.
5. To confirm the setting, press the PTT [8] key or wait for approximately 5 seconds.
To deactivate CTCSS tones
If you want to operate with no CTCSS code:
1. Press twice the MODE [4] key until the display shows the desired channel and the CTCSS tone blinking
on the right.
2. Select “of” with / [7] buttons.
High and low power
To extend the battery life, you can select the low power mode, which can be selected only with the PMR446
channels.
To activate the low power:
1. Turn on the unit
2. Press the MODE [4] button 4 times, until the display shows “Pr hi”.
3. Select the low power by pushing the or [7] buttons.
4. Confirm by pushing the PTT [8] or simply wait for 5 seconds.
With this procedure, MIDLAND 777 will operate in low power.
Keypad beep
To deactivate the keypad beep at the pressure of any key, follow these steps:
1. Turn on your MIDLAND 777.
2. Press the MODE [4] button 5 times, until the display shows “bP on”.
3. Push or [7] until “bP of” appears on the display.
4. Confirm by pushing the PTT [8] or simply wait for 5 seconds.
With this procedure, you won’t hear any beep at the pressure of any button.
Call tone
MIDLAND 777 can send 3 different call tones. To send this audio signal to other users, press rapidly the
PTT [8] key twice.
To select the call tones:
1. Turn on the transceiver
2. Push MODE [4] 7 times, until the display shows “CA 1”.
3. Push or [7]: you will hear the 3 pre-set melodies.
4. Confirm by pushing the PTT [8] key or wait for 5 seconds.
Now, each time your MIDLAND 777 will send out a tone call, it will beep with the selected melody.
To disable this feature, set “of” on the display.
Note: when Vibralarm is enabled (‘ON’ setting) the call tone won’t be heard.
Vibralarm
MIDLAND 777 is equipped with the function “Vibralarm”, which provides a silent alert for incoming
calls.
To activate it, follow these steps:
1. Turn on the unit.
2. Press the
MODE [4] key 8 times, until the display shows
3. By pushing / this feature will be disabled or enabled (two available settings: ON and BO
– both). Note: if you receive an incoming call and BO is activated, the radio will emit a silent
alert (vibration) and a call tone.
4. Confirm by pushing the PTT [8] key or wait for 5 seconds.
Dual Watch
This function allows you to monitor two channels of your choice at the same time. To select the
Dual Watch, follow the steps outlined below:
1. Switch on the unit
2. Select the first channel to scan (see Par. “Channel selection”)
3. Press MODE [4] button 9 times, until “Rx Tx” is displayed.
4. Push the / controls, the Dual Watch can be activated by selecting the second channel to
monitor.
5. Push PTT [8] for confirmation or wait for 5 seconds. The transceiver will start monitoring the
two channels.
6. When the transceiver detects a transmission on one of the two channels, Dual Watch
temporarily pauses, remains tuned for 5 seconds on the corresponding channel, giving the
user a chance to respond to a call. After this pause, the transceiver begins scanning again.
To talk again to this user, press PTT [8].
7. If Dual Watch pauses on a channel on which you would like to send a transmission, press PTT
[8]. MIDLAND 777 will transmit on the channel where Dual Watch started; when finished, the
scanning will start again after 5 seconds.
8. To exit this function, quickly press SCAN [3]

ungefähre Reichweite des Geräts (gemessen bei PMR 446)
Die maximal erzielbare Reichweite hängt wesentlich von den Umbegungsbedingungen ab. Auf freiem Feld
oder von Bergen oder hohen Gebäuden aus ist die Reichweite am größten.
Die Reichweite wird im wesentlichen nur durch Hindernisse im Ausbreitungsweg begrenzt, wie Gebäude,
Baumbestand, Hügel oder grössere Metallkonstruktionen. Innerhalb von Fahrzeugen oder Stahlbetonkon-
struktionen kann die Reichweite geringer werden. Normalerweise erreicht man in städtischer Umgebung
mit Gebäuden und ähnlichen Hindernissen 1 bis 2 Km. Im Freien mit wenigen Bäumen, Büschen oder
kleineren Häusern kann man maximal 4-6 Km erzielen. In offenem Gelände, ohne Hindernisse in der
Sichtverbindung, z.B. von Bergen, Türmen oder Brücken aus sind bei guten Bedingungen auch mehr als
10 Km möglich.

Bedienung des Funkgeräts
Ein- und Ausschalten
Halten Sie die MODE Taste [4] mindestens 3 Sekunden lang gedrückt. Mit einem Mehrfachton (die
Bestätigungstöne können abgeschaltet werden) schaltet sich das Gerät auf dem zuletzt benutzten Kanal ein (bzw.
aus). Beim Einschalten leuchten alle Symbole in der Anzeige für einen automatischen Funktionstest kurz auf.
Laustärkeeinstellung
Die Empfangslautstärke stellen Sie mit den Tasten / [7] nach Ihren Wünschen ein.
Kanalwahl
Drücken Sie die MODE [4] Taste einmal. Die Kanalnummer blinkt. Mit / [7] wählen Sie den gewünschten
Kanal aus. Ein kurzer Druck auf die Sendetaste PTT [8] bestätigt die Kanalwahl (alternativ wird auch nach
5 Sekunden Wartezeit automatisch gespeichert.
Senden mit dem MIDLAND 777
Zum Senden halten Sie die Sendetaste PTT [8]. gedrückt. Sprechen Sie mit normaler Stimme wie beim
Telefonieren aus ca. 5 bis 10 cm Entfernung in das eingebaute Mikrofon. Im Display erscheint “TX”.
Am Ende Ihrer Sendung lassen Sie die Sprechtaste PTT [8] wieder los. Nach dem Loslassen der Taste wird
ein zusätzliches Tonsignal ( Roger Beep) ausgesendet, was bei Geräuschen oder schlechtem Empfang
nützlich ist, der Gegenseite zu zeigen, dass Sie aufgehört haben, zu senden (das Signal ist abschaltbar,
siehe Menüpunkt “Roger Beep”).
Empfang
Nach dem Loslassen der PTT Taste [8] schaltet Ihr MIDLAND 777 automatisch wieder auf Empfang. Bei
einem ankommenden Signal erscheint im Display ”RX”.
Stromsparschaltung und Batterie-Warnanzeige
Auch der Stromverbrauch Ihres MIDLAND 777 wird durch den zentralen Prozessor optimiert: Sobald
mehr als 7 Sekunden lang kein Signal mehr empfangen wird, werden alle nicht unbedingt benötigten
Schaltungen im Gerät vorübergehend deaktiviert, solange, bis wieder ein Empfangssignal registriert wird.
Aufladen
Wird der Akku-Pack Ihres Funkgerätes schwächer, blinkt im Display. Zusätzlich schaltet das Gerät in
einen Stromsparmodus, so dass alle für den Empfangsbetrieb nicht benötigten Funktionen abgeschaltet
werden. Der Ladevorgang kann auf zweierlei Wegen erfolgen: entweder in den Standlader oder benutzen
Sie den Steckerlader (über die Mikrofon/Ladebuchse).
Wenn Sie das Gerät im ausgeschalteten Zustand aufladen, erscheint die Ladeanzeige “Ch” im Display.
Sobald die Ladung abgeschlossen ist, wechselt die Anzeige zunächst von “Ch” auf “FL”, nach 1 Minute
erlischt die Anzeige. Wenn Sie das Gerät im eingeschalteten Zustand aufladen, erscheint die Ladeanzeige
“Ch” im Display im Wechsel mit der Kanalnummer. Sobald die Ladung abgeschlossen ist, wechselt diese
Anzeige von “Ch” auf “FL”.
Tastatursperre
Halten Sie die Taste SCAN [3] für mindestens 3 Sekunden gedrückt. Es erscheint das Symbol im
Display und alle Tasten außer der Sendetaste PTT bleiben gesperrt. Zum Abschalten der Tastensperre
drücken Sie wieder 3 Sekunden lang die SCAN [3] Taste.
WEITERE FUNKTIONEN
Alle Funktionen sind in einer Menüsteuerung zusammengefasst und können durch wiederholtes Drücken
der MODE [4] Taste nacheinander erreicht werden
VOX Funktion: Freisprechen und Babyüberwachung
Aktivieren der VOX Funktion
MODE [4] Taste 3 x drücken. Im Display blinkt “VOX” oben links, und darunter erscheint zunächst of . Mit
/ [7] können Sie jetzt zwischen 2 Empfindlichkeitsstufen wählen.
Stufe 1 ist die empfindlichste Stufe, z.B. für die Babyüberwachung oder bei geringen Umgebungsgeräuschen.
Stufe 2 ist zu wählen, wenn die Umgebungsgeräusche stärker sind.
Bestätigen Sie Ihre Wahl mit einem kurzen Druck auf PTT [8] (oder einfach 5 Sekunden warten).
Beim Sprechen in das Mikrofon wird automatisch der Sender eingeschaltet, Sie brauchen also keine PTT
Taste mehr zu drücken. Die automatische Schaltung funktioniert mit dem eingebauten Mikrofon und ebenso
mit externem Audio Zubehör, z.B. dem Headset AE 37 oder dem externen Baby-Überwachungsmikrofon
BM 1.
Abschalten der VOX Funktion
MODE [4] wieder 4 x drücken, bis VOX blinkt. Darunter sehen Sie die gewählte Empfindlichkeit 1 oder 2.
Schalten Sie mit / [7] auf of und bestätigen Sie wieder mit PTT [8].
Da im Gegensatz zum Handy-Telefonieren bei Funkgeräten ein durch Geräusche aktivierter Sender den
Empfang blockieren kann, benutzen Sie die Freisprechfunktion nur, wenn die Umgebungsgeräusche nicht
zu laut sind. So ist z.B. beim Motorradfahren ein Freisprechbetrieb nicht zu empfehlen.
ROGER BEEP: Übergabeton am Ende jeder Sendung
Die beim Loslassen der PTT [8] gesendeten Bestätigungstöne kann man auch jederzeit deaktivieren und
wieder einschalten.
1. MODE [4] 6x drücken bis das Display rb und of bzw. oN anzeigt.
2. Mit den Tasten oder [7] oN bzw. of einstellen
3. Durch Druck auf PTT [8] oder 5 Sekunden Warten Einstellung bestätigen.
SCAN: Suchlauf über die Kanäle
Im Suchlauf ( SCAN) Mode kann man die Funkkanäle nach Signalen absuchen, also besetzte Kanäle
finden.
Dabei werden alle Kanäle nacheinander automatisch abgesucht. Auf belegten Kanälen stoppt der Suchlauf
und Sie hören den Funkbetrieb mit.
Hinweis: beim Suchlauf kann das Gerät erkennen, ob eine gefundene Gegenstation mit einem CTCSS
Ton codiert sendet. Ist das der Fall, dann wird die Nummer des Ton-Codes im Display angezeigt. Wenn
Sie mit einer so beim Suchlauf gefundenen Station in Kontakt treten wollen, dann müssen Sie natürlich die
Ton-Code-Nummer auch bei Ihrem Gerät für diesen Kanal übernehmen, sonst kann der andere Teilnehmer
dort Sie ja nicht hören (lesen Sie bitte mehr über CTCSS im nächsten Kapitel).
Suchlauf aktivieren
1. SCAN [3] Taste drücken. Im Display sehen Sie die Kanäle durchlaufen.
2. Bei Suchlaufstops auf nicht interessanten Sendungen kann man mit / [7] ggf. weiterschalten.
Senden während des Suchlaufs
Beim Drücken von PTT [8], sendet das Gerät entweder auf dem Kanal, wo der Suchlauf gestartet wurde,
oder, falls der Suchlauf auf einem belegten Kanal angehalten hatte, mit den eingestellten Werten auf
diesem Kanal.
Zum Abschalten des Suchlaufs erneut SCAN [3] drücken.
Squelch (Rauschsperre)
Bei Ihrem MIDLAND 777 ist die automatische Rauschunterdrückung (Squelch) ab Werk bereits aktiviert.
Wenn es sich als notwendig erweisen sollte, kann man die Rauschunterdrückung an den Grenzen der
Reichweite auch durch “ Überbrücken” abschalten: Drücken Sie MODE , bis “SL of” erscheint. Wählen
Sie “ SL on” mit der taste. Deaktivieren der “Überbrückung” wieder mit MODE.
Einstellungen für die zusätzliche CTCSS Codierung
MIDLAND 777 kann in zwei Codierungs-Grundeinstellungen betrieben werden:
a) “offener Funkverkehr” in dieser Einstellung (Lieferzustand) kann jeder Benutzer jeden anderen
Teilnehmer auf dem gleichen Sprechkanal hören.
b) “geschlossene Gruppe” Die Mitglieder einer Gruppe entscheiden sich für einen gemeinsamen Code
aus 38 möglichen CTCSS Code-Tönen. Jetzt empfangen Sie nur noch Sendungen von Teilnehmern
mit dem gleichen CTCSS Code: bei allen anderen Signalen bleibt der Lautsprecher stumm.
Zum Einstellen der Codierung wählen Sie einen von 38 möglichen Codes:
1. Bei eingeschaltetem Gerät Funkkanal auswählen (bei Bedarf kann man auf jedem Funkkanal eine
andere Codierung benutzen!)
2. 2 mal die MODE [4] Taste drücken, bis neben der Kanalzahl of oder eine Nummer 01..38 blinkt (of ist
die Werkseinstellung)
3. den gewünschten Code-Ton mit den Tasten / [7] auswählen
4. Zur Bestätigung wieder PTT [8] kurz drücken oder circa 5 Sekunden warten.
Codierung wieder aufheben
Wie oben beschrieben vorgehjen, jedoch als Code die of Stellung auswählen.
Wichtig: Alle Teilnehmer einer Gruppe müssen den gleichen Kanal und die gleiche Codierung
eingeschaltet haben, sonst ist keine Funkverbindung möglich! Mit CTCSS Codierung können sich auf
einem gemeinsam benutzten Kanal bis zu 38 verschiedene Gruppen bilden. Innerhalb einer Gruppe hört
man dann nur alle dort beteiligten Stationen, nicht aber fremde Teilnehmer.
Sendeleistung umschalten
Wenn Sie im Nahbereich die vollen 500 mW Leistung auf den PMR Kanälen nicht brauchen, können Sie
viel Batteriestrom sparen, wenn Sie auf kleine Leistung herunterschalten (auf LPD Kanälen ist immer
niedrige Leistung eingestellt).
1. Bei eingeschaltetem Gerät 4 x MODE [4] drücken, es erscheint “Pr hi”.
2. Schalten Sie mit oder [7] die Leistung um.
3. Bestätigen Sie wieder mit einem kurzen Antippen von PTT [8] oder 5 sec warten.
Herauf- und Herunterschalten ist nur auf den 8 PMR 446 Kanälen möglich (EU Vorschrift).
Tastatur-Bestätigungston
Die Bestätigungstöne bei den Tasten können auch aus- oder wieder eingeschaltet werden.
1. Bei eingeschaltetem Gerät 5 x MODE [4] drücken, bis “bP on” erscheint.
2. Mit oder [7] können Sie zwischen “bP of” oder “bP on” wählen.
3. Mit Antippen der PTT [8] Taste bestätigen oder 5 Sekunden warten.
Bei ausgeschalteten Bestätigungstönen hören Sie keine Quittierung mehr beim Tastendruck!
Ruftöne auswählen
Beim MIDLAND 777 können Sie 3 verschiedene Rufmelodien wählen, mit denen Sie sich bei
anderen Teilnehmern bemerkbar machen können. Sie können den Ruf auslösen, wenn Sie 2 x
schnell hintereinander auf die Sendetaste PTT [8] drücken.
Auswahl der Melodien:
1. bei eingeschaltetem Gerät 7 x MODE [4] drücken, bis Sie “CA 1” sehen.
2. Mit oder [7] eine der 3 Melodien (oder keine = of) auswählen.
4. Bestätigen mit PTT [8] oder 5 Sekunden warten.
Die gewählte Rufmelodie ertönt bei Schritt 2 zur Kontrolle über den Lautsprecher. Anmerkung:
Sofern die Gegenstation auch ein MIDLAND 777 benutzt und stumme Alarmierung (VibraCall)
eingeschaltet hat, wird bei ihr statt der Rufmelodie der Vibrationsalarm ausgelöst. Einen
Vibrationsalarm können Sie auch auslösen, wenn Sie keine Melodie ausgewählt haben.
Vibracall (Vibrationsalarm)
Ihr MIDLAND 777 kann auch einen Vibrationsalarm empfangen, wenn Sie nicht durch Ruftöne
gestört werden wollen.
So schalten Sie den Vibrationsalarm ein:
1. Bei eingeschaltetem Gerät 8 x
MODE [4] drücken, bzw. so oft, bis das Display zeigt.
3. Den Vibrationsalarm schalten Sie mit den oder Tasten ein oder aus. Hinweis: Es gibt
zwei Einstellungen: ON oder BO. Ist ON aktiviert, erscheint ein eingehender Alarm nur als
Vibrationsalarm, ist BO aktiviert, hören Sie zusätzlich zum Vibrationsalarm auch den Rufton.
4. Bestätigen mit PTT [8] oder 5 Sekunden warten.
Sobald Sie von einem anderen MIDLAND 777 einen Ruf empfangen, spüren Sie den
Vibrationsalarm. Der Vibrationsalarm arbeitet nur, wenn auf beiden Seiten MIDLAND 777
benutzt werden.
Zweikanal-Überwachung (Dual Watch)
Müssen Sie auf einem bestimmten Kanal ständig empfangsbereit sein (Prioritätskanal), dann
können sie diesen Sie diesen Kanal besonders markieren. Selbst wenn Sie auf einem anderen
Kanal auf Empfang sind, wird Ihr MIDLAND 777 immer wieder kurz auf diesen besonderen Kanal
zurückschalten und prüfen, ob dort Funkbetrieb stattfindet. Wenn das der Fall ist, schaltet das
Gerät auf diesen Kanal um, ansonsten wird wieder der andere gewählte Kanal überwacht.
1) Bei eingeschaltetem Gerät den “Erstkanal” auswählen” (siehe auch unter “Kanalwahl”)
2) Jetzt 9 x MODE [4] drücken, bzw. so oft, bis “Rx Tx” erscheint.
3) Mit oder zwischen of und P1 ... P8 bzw. 1...69 als “Zweitkanal” auswählen.
4) Mit PTT [8] bestätigen oder 5 Sekunden warten.
Das Funkgerät überwacht jetzt beide Kanäle und stoppt ggf. auf dem Kanal, auf dem Funkbetrieb
stattfindet. ca. 5 sec nach Ende des Funkbetriebs startet die Zweikanalüberwachung
wieder. Mit der PTT Taste können Sie sich in ein Gespräch auf dem Kanal einschalten, die
Überwachung stoppt dabei.
5) Abschalten der Zweikanalüberwachung durch kurzen Druck auf SCAN [3].

Compartimento de baterías
Coloque el equipo boca abajo, quite el tornillo de
fijación del clip de cinturón y deslice la tapa hacia
la parte baja de la radio. Inserte el pack de baterías
como se muestra en la imagen.
Iluminación del display
Pulse una de estas teclas ( MODE o / ) para
activar la iluminación del display durante 5 segundos
aproximadamente.
Radio de cobertura (pmr446)
El máximo alcance se obtiene utilizando los equipos al aire libre y dependiendo de las características del
terreno. Factores ambientales como árboles, edificios y otros obstáculos pueden hacer que disminuya el
rango de cobertura. Así mismo dentro de un coche o bajo estructuras metálicas, el alcance puede disminu-
ir. Normalmente la cobertura en la ciudad, con edificios y otros obstáculos es entre 1 y 2 Km. En espacios
abiertos con algún tipo de obstáculo, el alcance puede estar entre 4-6 Km. y, sin ningún tipo de obstáculo,
por ejemplo entre dos montes, al alcance podría ser superior a los 10 Km.

Encender/Apagar la radio
Pulse y mantenga pulsada durante 3 segundos la tecla MODE [4]. La radio emite 3 pitidos con diferente
tono (los pitidos se pueden anular). El display muestra un mensaje de auto-test durante 1 segundo,
mostrando a continuación el último canal seleccionado.
Ajuste de volumen
Para ajustar el nivel de volumen, pulse las teclas / [7] hasta lograr el volumen deseado.
Selección de canal
Pulse la tecla MODE [4] una vez y después / [7] para seleccionar uno de los 8 canales. Para confirmar
la selección, pulse PTT [8] o espere 5 segundos aproximadamente.
Transmisión
Para obtener la máxima claridad, mantenga la radio de 5 a 10 cm. de su boca, mantenga pulsada la tecla
PTT [8] y hable normalmente. Durante la transmisión, el display muestra “ TX”.
Cuando se suelta el PTT [8], la radio puede emitir un pitido para confirmar al otro usuario que su transmisión
ha finalizado (esta función está deshabilitada de fábrica. Para habilitarla vea el párrafo “Roger Beep”)
Recepción
Simplemente no pulse el mando PTT [8]. Cuando reciba una señal, en el display aparece “RX”.
Ahorro de energía
Si el equipo no recibe ninguna señal durante 7 segundos o más, entra en funcionamiento un circuito
automático de ahorro de batería el cual puede incrementar la autonomía de la batería hasta un
50%.
Recarga
Cuando la batería está descargada, el icono parpadea en el display. Proceda a la recarga inmediata.
Por otro lado, para evitar que la descarga continúe, el equipo conmuta automáticamente a modo “sólo
recepción”.
La recarga se puede hacer de dos maneras: insertar la radio dentro en el cargador de sobremesa o utilizar
el adaptador de pared.Cuando la radio esta en carga, el icono de la batería desaparece y aparece
en el display “Ch”.
Si recarga las baterías con la radio apagada, mostrará “Ch” en el display hasta que la carga este completa;
entonces “Ch” desaparecerá y el display mostrará “FL” que desaparecerá un minuto después. Si recarga
las baterías con la radio encendida, mostrará “Ch” y el canal actualmente en uso. Cuando la carga este
completa, el display mostrará “FL” en vez de “Ch”.
Bloqueo del teclado
Pulse y mantenga pulsada durante 3 segundos la tecla SCAN [3]. El símbolo aparece en el display
durante 3 segundos para confirmar que el bloqueo ha sido activado. El pulsador PTT seguirá activo.
Repita el mismo proceso para desbloquear el teclado.
FUNCIONES DE LAS TECLAS
VOX control (transmisión manos libres)
Activación del VOX
Pulse la tecla MODE [4] tres veces. El display muestra “VOX” parpadeando en la parte superior izquierda,
mientras a la derecha del número de canal aparece “ of”. Seleccione uno de los dos niveles deseados con
las teclas / [7] y pulse la tecla PTT [8] o espere 5 segundos para la confirmación.
Hable al micrófono [6] o utilice uno de los diferentes accesorios compatibles; la transmisión se activa
automáticamente.
Desactivación del VOX
Pulse de nuevo la tecla MODE [4]. El display muestra “VOX” parpadeando en la parte superior izquierda,
mientras a la derecha del número de canal aparece el nivel de sensibilidad seleccionado. Seleccione “of”
usando las teclas / [7] y pulse la tecla PTT [8] o espere 5 segundos para la confirmación.
ROGER BEEP: tono de fin de transmisión
Cuando suelte la tecla PTT [8], el equipo emitirá un pitido para indicar a los otros usuarios que su
transmisión ha finalizado. Esta función está desactivada por defecto.
Para activar la función, siga los siguientes pasos:
1. Pulse la tecla MODE [4] 6 veces hasta que en el display aparezca “rb oF”
2. Seleccione “ rb on” utilizando las teclas / .
3. Pulse PTT [8] o espere 5 segundos para la confirmación.
4. El Roger Beep ahora está activado.
Función Scanner
El Scanner monitoriza los canales ocupados.
Se utiliza para explorar el tráfico de los canales antes de transmitir y hace que la radio se detenga en un
canal donde haya alguna comunicación. En el caso de que no le interese esa conversación, puede saltar
ese canal pulsando las teclas / [7].
Cuando se activa la función scanner, el detector de subtonos CTCSS también se activa: la radio detecta
automáticamente el subtono, el cual se mostrará en el display. El subtono detectado en recepción no se
ajusta automáticamente en transmisión y, por lo tanto, para hablar, se debe ajustar mediante el menú (vea
el párrafo de Ajuste de Subtono)
Para activar el SCANNER
1. Pulse la tecla SCAN [3]; los canales son explorados y se muestra en el display
2. Pulse las teclas or [7] para saltar los canales con mucho ruido de fondo o que no se quieran
escuchar.
Transmisión durante la exploración
Pulse la tecla PTT [8] para transmitir en el canal donde empieza la exploración o en un canal ocupado. Si
detecta subtono, deberá ajustarlo manualmente para que pueda ser escuchado.
Para desactivar esta función, pulse de nuevo la tecla SCAN [3]
Squelch
El dispositivo para la reducción del ruido de fondo (squelch) del Midland 777 viene activado de fábrica.
Para aumentar la cobertura RX, puede abrir el Squelch: pulse la tecla MODE hasta que aparezca en el
display “ SL of”. Seleccione “SL on “ con la tecla . Pulse la tecla MODE para desactivar la función.
Ajuste de los subtonos CTCSS
El MIDLAND 777 puede recibir de dos maneras
En abierto: en este caso se escuchan todas las comunicaciones realizadas en el canal seleccionado.
Con subtono: los tonos son como llaves que le permiten recibir mensajes solamente de otros equipos
que estén ajustados en el mismo canal y con el mismo subtono. La radio no recibirá nada si el subtono no
es el mismo en los dos equipos.
Activación de los subtonos
1. Encienda la radio
2. Seleccione un canal
3. Pulse dos veces la tecla MODE [4] hasta que en el display aparezca el canal con el número de
subtono parpadeando a su derecha (ajuste por defecto:” Of”).
4. Seleccione el subtono deseado mediante las teclas / [7]
5. Para confirmar el ajuste, pulse la tecla PTT [8] o espere 5 segundos para la confirmación.
Desactivación de los subtonos
Si quiere trabajar sin subtonos:
1. Pulse dos veces la tecla MODE [4] hasta que en el display aparezca el canal con el número de
subtono, parpadeando a su derecha
2. Seleccione “ Of” con las teclas / [7].
Potencia alta y baja
Para prolongar la duración de la batería, puede seleccionar el modo de baja potencia, pero solamente será
operativo en los canales de pmr446
Activación de baja potencia
1. Encienda la radio
2. Pulse la tecla MODE [4] 5 veces, hasta que en el display aparezca “Pr hi”
3. Seleccione potencia baja pulsando las teclas / [7]
4. Confirme pulsando PTT [8] o esperando 5 segundos
Con este proceso, su MIDLAND 777 operará en potencia baja
Tonos del teclado
Para desactivar el sonido del teclado al pulsar una tecla siga los siguientes pasos
1. Encienda su MIDLAND 777
2. Pulse la tecla MODE [4] 5 veces, hasta que en el display aparezca “bP on”
3. Pulse / [7] hasta que en el display aparezca “ bP of”
4. Confirme pulsando PTT [8] o esperando 5 segundos
Con este proceso, no escuchará ningún tono al pulsar las teclas.
Tonos de llamada
MIDLAND 777 puede enviar 3 tonos de llamada diferentes. Para enviar esta señal de audio a
otros usuarios, pulse dos veces rápidamente la tecla PTT [8]
Para seleccionar los tonos de llamada:
1. Encienda la radio
2. Pulse la tecla MODE [4] 7 veces, hasta que en el display aparezca “CA 1”
3. Pulse / [7]: escuchará las tres melodías preajustadas
4. Confirme la melodía deseada pulsando la tecla PTT [8] o espere 5 segundos
Ahora, cada vez que realice una llamada, lo hará con la melodía que ha seleccionado. Para
desactivar esta función, siga el mismo proceso y ajuste “ of” en el display
Nota: cuando el Vibralarm está activado (ON), el tono de llamada no se escuchará
Vibralarm
Su MIDLAND 777 dispone de la función “Vibralarm”, la cual le proporciona una alerta silenciosa
ante llamadas entrantes.
Para activar está función, proceda como sigue:
1. Encienda la radio
2. Pulse la tecla MODE [4] 8 veces, hasta que en el display aparezca “Rx Tx”
3. Pulsando / activará o desactivará esta función (dos posibles ajustes: ON y BO - ambos).
Nota: si recibe una llamada y BO está activado, la radio emitirá una alarma silenciosa
(vibración) y el tono de llamada
4. Confirme pulsando la tecla PTT [8] o espere 5 segundos para la confirmación.
Doble escucha
Esta función le permite monitorizar dos canales de su elección al mismo tiempo. Para activar la
Doble Escucha, siga los siguientes pasos:
1. Encienda la radio
2. Seleccione el primer canal a explorar (vea el párrafo “Selección de Canal”)
3. Pulse la tecla
MODE [4] 9 veces, hasta que en el display aparezca
4. Seleccione el segundo canal a explorar con las teclas / [7]
5. Pulse la tecla PTT [8] para confirmar o espere 5 segundos. El equipo comenzará a explorar
los dos canales.
6. Cuando el equipo detecta una transmisión en uno de los dos canales, la Doble Escucha
se detiene momentáneamente, permaneciendo en el canal activo durante 5 segundos,
dándole la opción de contestar a esa llamada. Después de este tiempo, el equipo reinicia la
exploración.
7. Si durante la función Doble Escucha el equipo se detiene en un canal en el que usted desea
realizar una transmisión, pulse la tecla PTT [8]. Después de 5 segundos de terminada la
transmisión, la exploración se reanudará.
8. Para salir de esta función, pulse brevemente SCAN [3].
