Cam Designer Professional DE/EN 2.0

Connections
In Curve Mode, the individual sections of

the cam profile are automatically joined
(connected) to form a continuous curve. In

this tab, you can select the type of

connection.

The default setting is

Automatic .

Depending on the shape and the
boundary values of the profile section,

the program will automatically select

connections with a minimum jolt to

protect the machine.

Alternatively, you can select fifth degree
polynomials.

If you select

Reduced Overshoot,

polynomials can be optionally combined

with lines to reduce overshoot to a

minimum.

Machine
By default, the selection of graphical

objects and the representation of speed and
acceleration refers to geometrical units. In

this tab, you can enter machine data to

calculate the physical limit values of the

motion profile.

You can choose between linear and
rotary axis and define the reference

speed of the master axis for the

selected axis.

For rotary axes, the maximum speed is

selected in revolutions per minute
[r.p.m.], for linear axes, in units of

distance per second [1/s].

If you uncheck

Normalized Velocity and Acceleration in Chart, the velocity will be indicated in units of

distance per second [1/s] and the acceleration in units of distance per second

2

[1/s

2

].

The slave is always considered to have a linear axis. The value range of the slave is therefore always
indicated in units of distance (e. g. mm). The velocity is indicated in units of distance/s (mm/s) and the

acceleration in units of distance/s

2

(mm/s

2

).
