1 EINLEITUNG
 Vielen Dank für den Kauf dieses neuen Motors! Mit diesem Handbuch möchten wir Ihnen
helfen, ein optimales Ergebnis mit Ihrem neuen Motor zu erzielen, und diesen sicher und
effizient zu betreiben. Hier finden Sie alle dafür notwendigen Informationen, lesen Sie
deshalb bitte dieses Handbuch gründlich durch.
 Dieses Handbuch stellt einen integrierten Bestandteil der Motorlieferung dar. Deshalb
sollte es bei einem Weiterverkauf des Motors unbedingt mitgegeben werden.
 Bitte lesen Sie auch die Anleitung des Geräts gut durch, das mit diesem Motor geliefert
wurde. In der Geräteanleitung finden Sie weitere Hinweise über das Starten und Stoppen
des Motors, über seine Bedienung, über mögliche Einstellungen und über spezielle
Wartungsanweisungen.
2 SICHERHEITSMELDUNGEN
 Ihre eigene Sicherheit und die von Dritten ist sehr wichtig! Deshalb finden Sie in diesem
Handbuch und am Motor spezielle Sicherheitsmeldungen. Bitte lesen Sie diese Meldungen
gründlich durch.
 Eine Sicherheitsmeldung stellt einen Hinweis auf mögliche Gefahrenquellen dar. Vor jeder
Meldung finden Sie ein Warnsymbol und eines der drei folgenden Wörter: DANGER
(Gefahrenhinweis), WARNING (Warnhinweis) oder CAUTION (Achtung).

Bei jeder Sicherheitsmeldung steht, welche Gefahr droht, was geschehen kann, und auch, was
Sie tun können, um diese Gefahr zu vermeiden oder zu verringern.
3 SICHERHEITSHINWEISE
 Sie müssen sich mit allen Bedienelementen vertraut machen und wissen, wie Sie im
Notfall den Motor sofort stoppen können. Wenn Sie das Gerät nicht selbst bedienen, muss
der Bediener vor der Inbetriebnahme umfassend über das Gerät unterrichtet werden.
 Der Auspuff des Motors stößt giftiges Kohlenmonoxid aus. Deshalb darf der Motor nicht
ohne ausreichende Belüftung und auf keinen Fall in geschlossenen Räumen betrieben
werden.
 Der Motor und der Auspuff werden während des Betriebs sehr heiß. Deshalb muss der
Motor beim Betrieb immer einen Mindestabstand von 1 m zu Gebäudeteilen und zu
anderem Gerät aufweisen. Ein ausreichender Sicherheitsabstand muss auch zu
entflammbarem Material eingehalten werden, und auf dem laufenden Motor darf nichts
abgelegt werden.

the best results from your new engine and operate it safely. This
manual contains information on how to do that; please read it
carefully before operating the engine.
This manual should be considered as a permanent part of the engine
and should remain with the engine if resold.
Review the instructions provided with the equipment powered by
this engine for any additional information regarding engine startup,
shutdown, operation, adjustments or any special maintenance
instructions.
SAFETY MESSAGES
Your safety and the safety of others is very important. We have
provided important safety messages in this manual and on the
engine. Please read these messages carefully.
A safety message alerts you to potential hazards that could hurt
you or others. Each safety message is preceded by a safety alert
symbol and one of th ree words , DANGER , WARNING , or
CAUTION.
These signal words mean:
DANGER
You WILL be KILLED or SERIOUSLY HURT if you don't follow
instructions.
You CAN be KILLED or SERIOUSLY HURT if you don't follow
instructions.
You CAN be HURT if you don't follow instructions.
Each message tells you what the hazard is , what can happen ,
and what you can do to avoid or reduce injury.
SAFETY INFORMATION
 Understand the operation of all controls and learn how to stop
the engine quickly in case of emergency. Make sure the operator
receives adequate instruction before operating the equipment.

Your engine's exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide.
Do not run the engine without adequate ventilation, and never
run the engine indoors.
Review the instructions provided with the equipment powered by
this engine for any precautions and procedures that should be
followed before engine startup.
OPERATION
SAFE OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
Before operating the engine for the first time, please review the
SAFETY INFORMATION section on page 2 and the BEFORE
OPERATION CHECKS above.
WARNING
Carbon monoxide gas is toxic. Breathing it can cause unco-
nsciousness and even kill you. Avoid any areas or actions
that expose you to carbon monoxide
Review the instructions provided with the equipment powered by
this engine for any safety precautions that should be observed .

STARTING THE ENGINE
Turn the fuel valve switch to the ON position
A1. FOR STARTINGA COLD ENGINE:
Move the throttle control to the choke position.close safety brake

until resistance is felt then pull cord rapidly to overcome compression
