PREFACE
Purpose of this document is to give rules and
instructions for the installation and operation of the
Collet-Lok

®

Swing Cylinders. The swing angle is 90º.

This document is written for personnel that have a
good working knowledge of the design, functions
and operations of hydraulic powered systems.
After reading this Instruction Sheet, personnel will
have a good understanding of the installation and
operation of Collet-Lok

®

Swing Cylinders in

hydraulic systems.

To guarantee a proper functioning the rules have to
be strictly followed.

for any costs, damages, or personal injuries if the
described Collet-Lok

®

Swing Cylinders are not used

according the rules and instructions given in this
Instruction Sheet.

INTRODUCTION

1.1

Receiving Instructions

Visually inspect all components for shipping
damage. Shipping damage is not covered by
warranty. If shipping damage is found, notify carrier
at once. The carrier is responsible for all repair and
replacement costs, resulting from damage in
shipment.

1.2

Safety First

Read all instructions, warnings and cautions
carefully. Follow all safety precautions to avoid
personal injury or property damage during system
operation. ENERPAC cannot be held responsible for
damage or injury resulting from unsafe use of
product, lack of maintenance or incorrect product
and/or system operation. Contact ENERPAC when
in doubt as to the safety precautions and
applications.

A Caution is used to indicate correct operating or
maintenance procedures in order to prevent damage
to, or destruction of, equipment or other property.

A Warning indicates a potential danger that requires
correct procedures or practices in order to prevent
personal injury.

1.2.1 General Safety Issues

Warning: Failure to comply with the
following cautions and warnings could
cause equipment damage or personal
injury.

Warning: To avoid personal injury and

possible equipment damage make sure all
hydraulic components withstand the
maximum pressure of 350 bar [5075 psi].

Caution: Minimize the risk of overloading.

Use hydraulic gauges in each hydraulic
system to indicate safe operating loads. It
is your window to what is happening in the

system.

Caution: Make sure that all system

components are protected from external
sources of damage, such as excessive
heat, flame, moving machine parts, sharp
edges and corrosive chemicals.

Warning: Always make sure you have

adequate personal protection when you
use the hydraulic equipment.

Caution: Always observe the maximum

nominal pressure and maximum filling.
Perform the appropiate preparations. The
working pressure must not exceed the

pressure of the system component with the lowest
nominal pressure.
