Installing the AT-PWR5 into the Multichannel Media Converter

The following sections explain how to install the AT-PWR5 into your media
converter.

Planning the Installation

The power supply being removed or installed must be powered off. You can
“hot swap” it. This means that you install the power supply while the media
converter is operating off the other installed power supply, without network
operations being interrupted.

Refer to the following guidelines when planning the installation of the
AT-PWR5:

"

If you are adding the optional redundant power supply, you can install
the power supply while the media converter is operating off the main
power supply, without network operations being interrupted.

"

If you are replacing one of the two power supplies, the failed power
supply can be removed and replaced with a new power supply while
the media converter is operating off the working supply, without
network operations being interrupted.

"

If you are replacing a power supply in a media converter that has only
one power supply, you interrupt network operations when you power
off the power supply.

Checking the AT-PWR5 Package

Your optional redundant power supply package should include the following
items:

"

One AT-PWR5
