General
The CLC/AR is a DIN rail mount, curve linearising/characterising signal
converter for current/voltage signals. It also incorporates two alarm
channels and a display.
Linearisationmethods
You can break the characteristic curve into any number of straight line
segments from 1 to 100. This gives up to 101 breakpoints throughout
the signal range. There are three methods of setting the breakpoint
spacing:
• Space the breakpoints evenly throughout the input range
• Space the breakpoints evenly throughout the display/output range
• Place the breakpoints anywhere
The last method can result in fewer breakpoints as you can place more
in the most non-linear segments of the curve. Choose the method
according to the type of experimental values or pick the simplest way
to calculate the values.
For example, if you had a table of the output voltages produced by a
CO
2
sensor for 0 %, 1 %, 2 %, %, % and 5 % CO
2
concentration,
you would space the breakpoints evenly throughout the display range
– the display would then read in % CO
2
.
Over-rangedisplay
When the input signal is outside the programmed input range the
display will show Ovr for over-range or -Ovr for under-range.
