3 Remove the blank front panel from the intended slot on the BlackDiamond switch (see Figure 71 ).

4 Install an I/O module or MSM in the open slot as described in “Installing a BlackDiamond 12800
Series Module” on page 102 or “Installing a Backup MSM” on page 105 .
NOTE
Leave the ESD-preventive wrist strap permanently connected to the switch, so that the strap is always available
when you need to handle ESD-sensitive components.
